Arian Foster Fans.........

You can proclaim that all you want, but there are plenty of players more talented than Arian Foster that have not made an NFL roster, and the odds of him not making an NFL roster are probably higher than the odds of him making an NFL roster.

Your statement that he could play a backup RB role on "many of the NFL rosters" is laughable as well. "Some" or "a few" is possible. "Many" is definitely stretching it.

Its not laughable at all. In fact, very possible. Even if he is just as good as a 3rd year backup, teams are more likely to give the rookie a shot for 2 reasons

1) More upside than a guy in the system for 3 years going nowhere.

2) Costs the team less money.

I doubt he gets drafted, but I believe there is a better chance than not of him hanging on to a team as a undrafted free agent. Even if it is practice squad to get the call up at some point in the year.

Prime example is Quinton Ganther. He was a serviceable backup for the titans. I believe he was on the practice squad some too. He made played in games because of his ability to contribute on special teams. There are games that he was on the active roster and never carried the ball.

I am by no means an AF apologist. I just disagree with you that he doesnt have the ability to be a backup RB on several NFL rosters.

I really don't get that. "Fumbling issues" He didn't fumble more often than any other running back with the amount of carries he had. They were just memorable and unfortunate fumbles. He gets a bad rap from fans. If you watched him carry the ball, he always secured it and held it close to his body. That's exactly how you want a running back to carry the ball.

Maybe I should say "Clutch Issues" then... because it seemed like every time he fumbled, it was near the goal and cost us an opportunity to win...

Now see, you've reversed course from "many" earlier to "several" now. Several is possible. I guess you now reducing it to "several" is your way of agreeing with my statement that ""some" or "a few" is possible while "many" is not without flat out admitting that you were likely wrong.

By the way, Foster has no upside. That is what will prevent him from making most squads. Also, nobody is going to take a chance on an unproven undrafted rookie with no upside, injury problems, a fumbling problem, and no speed over a three year veteran that is a known commodity AND would already know the offense.

undrafted free agent. maybe make a practice squad. his pro day sucked out loud and he hasn't done himself a whole lot of good when you look at his "great" runs at UT getting caught from behind more times than not.

lack of speed, not THAT powerful, and has had fummbilitis in the past.

i don't hate the kid, but i haven't seen anything football wise that translates in to NFL running back.

Well, I guess it's a moot point then. Arian Foster doesn't have the talent to crack the starting 11 for the Detroit Lions.

You know, I'm not Arian's biggest fan. Matter of fact, I'd say I'm one of his bigger critics.

However, I never thought that Cedric Houston would ever have the talent to even make an NFL roster. He actually made a roster, and because of a few unfortunate injuries, started. He even had a few games where he did good for the Jets(even rushed for 195 yards one game).

My point being, don't ever count anyone out.

Not backtracking at all. Your thoughts on Arian are noted. I just think differently.

I think its good for arian and the fans that he is no longer here.
It is hard to remember a player that polarized the fan base as much as he did.

After 05 I was his biggest fan, i have to admit after the UF game in 07 i turned on him.
