arguments over the ''real UT''

so people from west virginia are really from virginia then? Actually Sam Houston was from europe, and then previously from africa based on the best scientific guess. Actually in the history books he claimed himself a Tennessean. But hey, I guess ole Sammy hou has no say in the matter. Either way I don't really care, he was a crazy drunk anyway.

I lived in Austin for 4 years and currently live in Houston. Anytime I say Tennessee is the original UT and then explain to Texas fans why we are UT, they never complain or say a negative thing because the fact is our school was established before their university and we have trademarked the "T". They also respect the Tennessee Volunteers and what they did for the state of Texas.

Let them have "UT"....I'll take Rocky Top, the checkerboard endzones, the power T, Tennessee Waltz, Smokey, Tennessee Orange, the Pride of the Southland, Neyland Stadium + 107,000, and the Tennessee River. They'll always have Bevo, I guess.
Funny how their team mascot got its name from one of the more embarrassing losses to its biggest rival. Bevo came from a 13-0 loss to A&M. The score was branded into the the Longhorn mascot. The geniuses came up with a couple of other brand marks to hide the prank and thus BEVO got the name.

every offseason we discuss this, jeez.

Not disagreeing that Tennessee was first, as it's fact, but the historical arguments are laughable.

Anyhow, F TU, Gig Em!
