A quick skim of the main board reveals doom and gloom.

Sorry to interupt that but I'm looking forward to the Outback Bowl tomorrow.

Carry on.

It is probably the least anticipated of any game this season for me. Well maybe not La-Laf. The nature of bowl games is just anti-climatic in a way.

We can only hope the team has thought more about it than we have. Who knows what's on their minds?

not quite a scrimmage, but it is a second tier bowl game against a middlin' Big 10 squad, not unlike last year.

So don't watch it.
I'll watch it, but I do think there's a very good reason that the level of board activity regarding the game is minimal. I simply tried to point out the reason that he was having to post a reminder about the game.

I wasn't posting a reminder - just commentary on the tone of the board.

To each his own but I love watching the Vols play regardless.

I'm excited about it but given our recent history in these games I am nervous also. There is no reason that we should not play well against WI but I'm still disappointed that we didn't beat LSU when we had a great opportunity to make a statement and AL was a throw away - they are not a good team and we should have had a better game plan. Those are my 2 disappointments of the year - we don't need a third! Just go to the bowl game and WIN like Joe Paterno does!!!!

it was about the tone, but the number of posts about the football game is amazingly low, given it's under 24 hours away.

I love watching the Vols as well, but this game just feels different than something that matters. Maybe a hangover from the possibilities that we lost in the SECCG.

Most fanbases that feel they follow a program that is supposed to be top notch are going to have a "letdown" after losing the conference championship game. I know I did. When they kick off tomorrow, I'll feel the same as I always do when a UT football game is on.

sh*t happens. tommorow is game day. so that means wake up, (probably still a bit tipsy from tonite) turn on the TV, and yell at the TV, either telling our players RUN RUN RUN, or dog cursing a ref or the other team either way GO VOLS

-Badgers? we dont need no stinkin badgers...

I'll pull for the Vols as hard as ever, but the outcome matters very little, unfortunately.

I'm so thrillled about tomorrow's game that I scheduled a flight out of Philadelphia that will result in me missing most of the first half. For some reason, I think I'm going to be very happy with that decision.

i'm excited about tomorrow. but that being said, this game has been one of the least anticipated bowl matchups for ut in recent memory.

At the risk of sounding repetitive (obviously that is not allowed on this board:whistling:) tomorrows game is huge in my view.

It starts the 08 season and I want very much to be 1-0 with spring practice, summer work outs, and August in mind. Winning breeds winning and we are a young team that could use a positive springboard into the next campaign.

Plus I love the VOLS and there were many a year I had nothing to watch after November...58 to 65, 75 to 79, 80, 87, and the horrorible 05 if memory serves me correct.

So I will be front and present wearing the Orange and raising hell for my favorite team since I was 6 years old.

GO VOLS!:victory:

I'm really looking forward to the OUTHOUSE bowl................this season was a joke, get killed by our 2 rivals and have 4 losses by 70 points.

There's still a chance we could finish in the Top 10 this year. To me, that's a meaningful accomplishment, but understandably, a lot of folks here are concerned about the future of the Vols program (e.g. new coaches and recruiting). Even CPF has admitted it's hard for him to juggle priorities this week. With the right hiring decisions. the Vols could be outstanding in 2008!
