Are your expectations being met?

Recruiting is about where I thought it would be. Other aspects of the program such as player buy-in, on-field coaching and discipline have exceeeded my expectations.

The only big mistake Kiffin has made thus far is underestimating how much Fulmer/Clawson/Cutcliffe/et al had screwed with Crompton's head and drained his confidence. Kiffin thought he had waved his magic USC Heisman QB wand and fixed Crompton by the end of fall camp. Unfortunately, UCLA's defense turned back that clock for another month full of games.

On a different site I tried to convey to some folks that this was a total reconstruction.

By looking at what has taken place, I'd say that they have far surpassed the progress that I expected.

Expected 8 wins, still think that we will get there, just didn't think that it would be such a dramatic overhaul, not this fast anyway.

Discipline has been instilled.
The running game is the best that it has been in years, with a make-shift O-Line.
Recruiting is better to this point, but more importantly, player development is much better.

Great years await us.

We Are Tennessee!

ehh. I expected 9 wins and that is not gonna happen.
9 wins wouldn't have even been my highest expectation. Even though I wasn't looking for a certain record (for his first year), I would have thought 8 wins on the higher side, 7 would meet it and 6 would be on the lower side.

damn right my expectations have been met...I don't like losses and there is no such thing as a moral victory, but I like the direction the program is heading. The trolls see it coming - that's why they are getting their shots in now. The future is not a secret to anybody.

Yes, been met.

Expected better discipline - got it.
Expected better game plans - got them.
Expected Crompton to improve - took a while, but he has.
Expected recruiting to blossom - resounding yes.
Expected to see better conditioning and stamina - yes.
Expected to see a team fight until the end and never give up - so far, yes.

I was hoping for 8-4, but would be OK with 7-5. I believe there is a good chance we can hit the 8-4, but 7-5 is probably more realistic... However, win a bowl and we're looking at 8-5, which is precisely the same record fulmer managed to squeeze out of a team starting the season ranked in the top 5 (2002).

I love what Lane has brought and the future of the program is very exciting.

But we've left two wins on the field so far. Those were games where Lane learned a lesson, and the hard fact is, Lane is still learning to be a head coach.

Totally agree. :good!:

I think they are all learning which is why I only wanted to see improvement as this year went on.

Overall, I love where the program is at discipline leadership, etc. But i would have expected UT to win the UCLA game, and the AUB game hurts. Thus, I expect the team to go 4-1 down the streach to make up for those losses. A win against a ranked USCjr team will be huge for this program. IMO, UT needs a bowl win for the program this year.

I love IN game adjustments and the game calling. I couldn't stand being the team that everyone else knew was gonna run it up the gut and play a slow pace. It just seemed like in 07 and 08, we were playing atari and the other team was playing ps3.
I also love how other teams hate us again. All my UF buddies talk so much crap again, and I love it!
