Are you kidding me with this offensive crap?!

These first couple weeks make me miss the offseason threads. We go down 14 last night, our players step up make plays, turnover the other team, respond by burying a team and we complain about not getting enough offensive yards? You're not going to have a lot of yards offensively when you get the ball on the other teams side of the 50.

First quarter showed we weren't going to get a lot of yards we we got it on our side of the 50.

Maybe Randy Sanders would be interested in coming back to Tennessee? Or how about giving Charlie Weis a try at OC? Maybe Fulmer would be interested in being an OL coach?

Alabama seems to be putting up big numbers and very efficient..... Maybe you should mosey on over to their board. I think I even saw an Alabama hat at Marshall's in the clearance section for cheap!..

Yes. Your point? Regardless of record, there is always room to improve. Saban was upset with Alabamas domination of WKU. So whats the problem with wanting our team to be better?

People want the W and to cover their eyes and ears to what is actually hAppening on a deeper level.

This board will go berserk in 2 weeks unless some drastic improvement occurs.

agreed. if nothing changes, and our game plan is to rely on 5 turnovers, and 100 yards in penalties by our opponent, and fumble recoveries for TD's by us......

October's gonig to be a REALLLY long month.

we gots lots of work to do.

Not a problem with it at all. But turning every thread into a diatribe against the team is ridiculous

I'm so frustrated with Debord.

I literally think the number 1 play call must be called Buzzsaw, or something to that effect. Because that is what Hurd is being asked to run in to on every first down.

I have tried to keep a positive energy about team 120. I really have. But seeing these first 2 games, I see nothing that gives me hope about beating UF and possibly Georgia. I already penciled in Alabama as a loss even before they found a potential stud QB.

I mean I could give this team somewhat of a pass in the first game. First game jitters and overlooking App state. But seeing our OL get abused again by inferior DL he me very worried. App state and VT do not have DL talent like UF, Bama, UGA, TAMU, Vandy or Mizzou. I am not saying all of those teams beat us. But right now with our pitiful play calling, inept OL and bad passing game I cannot see a way in which we beat UF, Bama, UGA or TAMU. I sure do hope I am wrong though.

And thats the most concerning thing. This team is supposedly loaded with veteran talent now. So whats the problem?

i really can't get over how bad the O line is. it's just awful. 2012/13 bad. 2 seconds in to the play, they all have the heads turned, or they're flat on their keester.

thru 2 games, this is what we'v shown to be. that has to change quickly to do what we think this team should be capable of doing.

relying on the other team to screw up, is not a sound strategy. and so far we're 2 for 2 in that category.

I agree. Been a Butch fan from the beginning, so it's not like I am just looking for things to be negative about. But the Debord move was so foolish.

I don't see us winning more than 1 of those games.

I've really got no idea at this point, but I agree that it's hard to imagine us winning big games unless something changes drastically up front.

I was against Butch in the beginning and have given him passes last year. I was never sold on the Debord hire. We now know why he was overseeing swimming these past years.

This offense is crippled IMO. We have skated by these past 2 weeks and will next week on sheer talent. Cannot do that against the SEC.

I liked Butch because I thought he would stabilize us after the Dooley debacle. He did that, and much better than I imagined, talent wise. I thought he might could get us a SEC championship if everything fell right. I no longer believe he can do that. I shrugged off his constant catch phrases and marketing gimmicks, but now I am wondering if that is all he is.

1. Bama was not on their schedule.
2. Our D is not quite as good as their D last year.
3. They were very fortunate.

Crazy thing is, we probably still have the most dynamic offense in the East.

Jack Jones needs to start. I'm not sure Richmond is ready yet. He was beaten like a drum. Oline needs to greatly improve before Oct. If not we will be looking at 8-4 this year. No where near pre-season expectations
