Are you from Tenn?

Never heard it called that when I was living there tbh. I lived out in the country in Carter's Valley area, Church Hill was the closest town. Went to Volunteer High School, which was an hour bus ride from our home. Going into Kingsport was a journey itself.

know the area well. I've just always heard the Church Thrill reference as a joke from the locals.

It wouldn't surprise me, hehe. There really wasn't much there, other than a grocery store, the barber, hardware store, car dealer and The Mountaineer restaurant.

I just went back for Halloween, and it hadn't really changed that much. Shopping Center behind The Mountaineer now, and the widened road which forced my Grandparents to build another house. Ohh, and the shopping center where the Dairy Queen used to be.

yeah, there's still not much. There's some guy that has a race car parts store out there, basically just next to his house... i got a buddy that frequents there

The biggest thing that surprised me was how much the Tri-Cities area has expanded since I had been there (8 years or so). All the cities are on top of each other now almost. Another 10 and they won't be able to grow anymore, hehe.

Born in Nashville...grew up in Wilson County...I did live in Crescent City, Florida about 25 years ago though. My parents had some friends that lived in Palatka.

As far as Tennessee goes I'm middle Tennessee thru and thru. I know very little about west or east Tennessee towns and roads. You get me off the interstate in those parts of the state I'm in trouble.

I didn't make it all the way into JC unfortunately. My family lives in the Harmony Acres area now, near Jonesborough. They told me how big JC had gotten tho. I just didn't have enough time there to do everything I wanted.

Went to JC, Bristol and Erwin on a week get away last year. I loved the area. JC is a bit congested, but geez, I have to put up with Memphis, so JC was wonderful. The whole area was beautiful, and they even tolerated a flatlander, such as myself. Even though I heard a few snickers behind my back, lol.
