I mention this because I see a lot of depth charts and at FB I see Fugate as the lone name on the list? Who is backing him up and are we pursuing anyone else for that role? We seem awfully thin at the position of the depth chart is correct.

I think Dooley wants to move away from using fullbacks and add tight ends instead. But we'll keep using the fullback as long as Fugate is hear because of him being awesome.

Aw man that sucks! I like the FB position. I like the idea of having someone plowing the field for our RB's.

I don't know if that's true. Dooley recruited Fugate, didn't he? I think we will look to move a RB or a ATH to FB possibly. Just get them here and see how it shakes out.

I thought he had already committed to Kiffin when Dooley got here.

Probably because he was better than the second and third options at TE.

He may be better than our starting TE now. I don't agree with your reasoning.

Besides, we used plenty of two TE sets last year. I think versatility is an asset.

Definitely some recruits on our board that would make excellent fullbacks. Beniquez Brown springs to mind.

I'd love for UT to employ a Mike Alstott type bruiser. LSU used Jacob Hester a few years ago with pretty good results.

Yeah, I mean Fugate is good. Never said he wasn't. Hence my comment about him being better than Rivera.

Seems to me, the fullback role is almost always filled from a position change or a walk-on.

Fullback is a fading position in football with formation shifts and the emergence of the H-back. You see it in the NFL all the time. A two-TE set can easily be manipulated in to the I-formation.

I think maybe depth at every other position is more important right now, maybe next year.

after the "lack of color" thread I read the title with an "l" in the last word. . .
