The last player who wasn't recruited (at first) was Admiral. I think Turner was Barnes' official FIRST commit, right?

I guess I already thought of us that way but... if Grant and Jordan Bone do stay and DJ Burns is in shape and can contribute big minutes - damn, we're gonna be good next year!

Let's just say there's some untapped potential. Burns might be a good one...might need more time. Hard to say, but I have to question if we're carrying too many players who appear to be suspect/limited. Kent, Walker, Jalen and Pons. Not trying to insult anyone, but I'd have to think we could find 4 transfers who could give us more than these guys have shown.

Bowden, Admiral, Turner, Kyle and Williams all flashed potential early. Those others mentioned have a LONG way to go. Pons has horrible ball handling and instincts. Walker and Johnson have athleticism but look like deer in the headlights. Fulk might have the most potential. If he puts on some solid muscle he could be a real pain for other teams.

I agree with this. But i want selfishly for Pons to succeed.

Yep until tournament time rolls around and then they'll fall apart as usual.

As usual? OKAY.

2015-2016 - 15-19 (No Tournament)
2016-2017 - 16-16 (No Tournament)
2017-2018 - 26-9 (Rnd of 32)
2018-2019 - 31-6 (Sweet 16)

As usual though...right? Give me a break with that crap man. Why don't you find another freaking team to cheer for then. Maybe they won't "fall apart".

These "fans" and their "What have you done for me 5 minutes ago" attitude absolutely kill me. They don't appreciate the body of work or overall improvement. Who cares that Barnes has improved this program every single year he's been here with 2 and 3 star players. Who cares that these 2 and 3 star players elevated their game to ridiculous highs. It just makes me sick to discredit such a hard working group of young men, especially coach Barnes, because we don't have a Kentucky, a Kansas, North Carolina, Duke, or another blue blood school's past success or tradition.

It’s always something. The same goes if the football team goes 7-5 or 8-4 this year but loses the bowl game or one SEC game we shouldn’t. Progress man, we’re not a championship program in any sport right now, and outside of football 20 years ago, we haven’t really been close. It takes time and patience. Gotta stick with the boys bc none of us are really involved.

I want to see Burns undergo the kind of physical transformation that Schofield did... It will obviously take some time but he will be a good player here before it's said and done.

I still believe Jalen has the potential to be a solid player here. The other three I am a bit concerned about as well. Walker regressed from freshman to sophomore season which is never a good sign. Pons started off the season looking okay, but lost confidence midway through the season and never recovered. As for Zach Kent...if he couldn't get on the floor this season with our lack of inside depth, I don't foresee him being in the plans going forward. Wouldn't be surprised to see him transfer.

This would be nirvana, however, other than Burns, which is yet to be determined, Barnes last 2 classes have been a major disappointment and part of the reason we didn't advance further this season. No depth on the bench wears A team down come tourney time. Gotta recruit better!

Johnson is a scorer, and when scorers are not an itrigal part of the offense they tend to look out of place. With admiral gone I wouldn’t be suprised to see Johnson become a 13-15 ppg type of guy next season. Pons may end up being a defensive specialist unless his feel for the game improves. My opinion of Fulkerson is that he is what you see, a spark plug that brings energy, gets rebounds, put backs, plays good defense, and gives maximum effort (think a poor mans dennis Rodman) which every team needs. It’s harder to peg walker, I thought he would develop faster than he has, he seems to have more body control than fulkerson, but he’s nowhere near as athletic. Hopefully burns can be a solid big man and give us at the very least the offensive production we are losing in Alexander.
