Fulmer appears to be building himself a staff. Tee for OC, one of Tucker/Pruit/Steele DC. Fill in the rest after announcing his return and David Blackburn as new AD.

Will it work?

A HC is only as good as his assistants...

Yes, once they rebuild Neyland after the fan base burns it down

Why on earth would Tee come to Knoxville for the same position??

Why on earth would Pruitt or Steele come to Knoxville for the same position??

Why on earth does this coaching search feel like we keep getting kicked in the balls everyday

Just hire someone already

If some of these names mentioned are actually hired then this will happen again in 3 years.

Let’s see:

1. He dictated what type of offense he wanted to be run. Fullback, two tight end sets, etc...

2. Its been widely reported that he will be “extremely involved” with the football program.

3. He’s looking exclusively at defensive guys, because the offensive model is his. The OC only needs to execute it.

4. None of the candidates are legitimate HC types, just coordinators for life or recruiters.

Sure, maybe he’s not coaching, but he’s following the Barry Alvarez model completely.

Yep.

On the way back to the bottom of the SEC here we come.

Back?!?!? We just went 0fer in the SEC. If by back you meant the program is right now flat on it's back with nowhere to go but up, yes that back. But if you meant we are returning to the bottom no, we're there in case you didn't notice.

Drum beat is starting... Phil will take the lead as HC since time is running out to secure the next class, but of course only until we can hire the right guy... 1-2 years out.

I'm all for bringing David Blackburn back as AD, which should have happened when they screwed the pooch with Currie.

But under no circumstance should Fulmer ever be the HC at Tennessee again.
