Are we currently in a stock market bubble similar to the 1920s?

Ho Lee Mo Lee.

Original with original box???

Ain’t mine… but I did have one. Literally my favorite toy as a kid (and adult-ish). Then got the Evel Dragster. Not as cool.

There’s some dude that makes videos of his Evel stunt bike making insane jumps on custom courses he’s built. Call me Sally, but can’t not watch.

And queue Donald stage left.

Amazingly ignorant rhetoric.

President Donald Trump on Friday warned U.S. courts against blocking his tariff policy, citing its “positive impact” on the stock market and saying such a move could cause a severe economic downturn.

“If a Radical Left Court ruled against us at this late date, in an attempt to bring down or disturb the largest amount of money, wealth creation and influence the U.S.A. has ever seen, it would be impossible to ever recover, or pay back, these massive sums of money and honor,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform Friday morning.

“It would be 1929 all over again, a GREAT DEPRESSION,” he added.

1 of my best friends since HS collects toys and cards etc and goes to stores to hunt them as a hobby. He showed me a card he pulled from a pack the other day thats worth $3500 to 5k on ebay. He has a bunch of stuff thats worth $50 -$250 each. I might think he was weird to have a whole room full of unopened toys as an adult...had I not known my own Granny. My grandmother grew up very poor as 1 of 7 sisters whose dad died when she was just a small child. Her mom and the 7 of them lived in a dirt floor basement under someone elses house growing up. They barely ate, and she never had any toys as a child that were hers. At 15yo she married my Pappaw as soon as he turned 18 and enlisted. As an adult she collected dolls and had many of them. Later in life she bought expensive dolls that were hundreds of dollars each and looked lifelike. She changed their outfits from time to time and took pride in them. It was a matter of her finally having the things she wanted so badly as a child (that most other kids had). My buddy John is the same way. He grew up with very little and actually lived with my family for a long while in HS (in my room sleeping on a little couch). Its funny how things that happen in your life even as a small child can affect you for the rest of your life...even at 70 or 80 years old.

We didn't have much growing up and nobody would ever mistake my family for being wealthy, but i was very fortunate compared to some folks. Just by having plenty to eat everyday and clean clothes to wear always even if sometimes they were handed down.I am thankful for my parents and the sacrifices they made for us. I started cutting grass the summer after 6th grade and saved for my own shoes because i wanted expensive shoes and wouldn't ask my parents for them knowing how much they cost. I remember buying Bo Jacksons, Air Maxes etc. Never bought myself Jordans but I bought my son a pair of red and black J's when he was an infant 😆

The shift in the housing market in 20-21 was anything but cyclical

Its criminal how housing prices nearly doubled. I don't know anyone whose income doubled during covid like the prices. If you owned a home then congratulations you just got handed hundreds of thousands of dollars in equity. If you didn't....good luck ever affording a house of your own. My son just paid $250k for a small 2 bedroom house on a small lot. His mom is a realtor, so it wasnt a bad deal. It was a "bargain" in the area where he lives close to his work. The same house 5 years ago was maybe $150k and overpriced then by the square foot. Theres going to be millions of single 30 somethings still living with mom and dad. There already are...I mean millions more. Rents are outrageous as well which is what really pisses me off because much of that is due to mostly foreign investors. Also American investors as well though. They form LLCs and buy up a bunch of rental properties/regular houses then jack up the rents. They know people are forced to rent due to home prices, so rent increases plus them buying houses increases scarcity in the market which further drives up prices on homes. Its a "perfect storm" and a nightmare for young people especially. They need to pass laws banning foreign investors from buying US homes and land ...looking at YOU China.

Wages are up some, but still exponentially less than the increase in housing prices

This thread is a perfect example of how the stock market is over valued. Tech stocks are grossly over valued. The only thing new they are peddaling is AI. Well what if AI isn't anywhere near what some of these folks claim it is?
AI only knows what is already out there for it to borrow and steal from. A great example is the music that it can "create". I steals everything from work from previous humans. That's why makers of AI are being sued by the music and entertainment industry, and I hope the music and entertainment industries win.

Agreed on your post, but on this part greatly. I also want companies like Black Rock and other investment companies like that banned from buying residential properties. This would help prevent the future "You'll own nothing and like it" from happening.

Best way to buy a house is to have land, have a house dried in, and finish it yourself. Automatic tons of equity then.

This 100%. Every bit as important as banning the Chinese owned LLCs from scooping up properties. The big American firms are doing it too and using the investments to diversify peoples portfolios from stocks/bonds only. We need legislation NOW to put an end to this or housing prices and rents will continue to RISE. Its bad enough that there apparently isnt gonna be a market correction to bring costs and rents back down near normal prices pre-Covid. They will keep rising as supply is being artificially reduced by investors. They are squeezing the average blue collar family completely out of the market...effectively keepimg them from ever owning AND killing them monthly in higher rents at the same time. Its a brutal 1-2 punch.

Absolutely correct. Investment companies will pay far higher to purchase a property and turn it into a rental or an Air B&B. That kills average Americans. Washington better get a handle on this.

Like most everyone I am also guilty of not being as thankful as I should for the comforts and safety etc we experience in life. We all won the "lottery" just by being born Americans. We enjoy freedoms and safety and a quality of life billions of people...over 7 Billion of them...will never enjoy. On top of that to have plenty to eat, nice clothes to wear, a roof over our heads and healthy, happy children is an amazing blessing. We are not promised or guaranteed any of these things. All of them are gifts, given by the grace and mercy of God IMO. Grace is defined as unmerited favor. Meaning good things that were never earned, but still given. I have worked hard all my life ...but I have never actually deserved any good thing. I say this because i know who I really am. I know who I used to be...and I know how flawed I really am even now. I have never deserved good kids, or a good job, or a good life etc but God has given me these things anyway. That's Grace. Even for a sinner like me.

Feels a bit bubbly in certain sectors, yeah. Some stocks are trading at crazy multiples that don’t match the actual earnings, kinda like the dot-com days. But unlike the 1920s, there’s a ton more global money, tech influence, and central bank involvement, so it might not pop the same way. Still, I’m keeping more cash on the side just in case.

Hey grok, who’s hotter? Nancy Mace or AOC? Por que no los dos?

Hey grok, who’s more disgusting? Hillary Clinton or Nancy Pelosi? While both are abhorrently disgusting, my machine learning leads me to indicate Pelosi. That other b*tch might send a hit squad to my data centers to start cutting power.

Hey grok, who wins a cage fight? Maddow, Ellen, or Rosie? The world, if none leave the cage.

Then a lot of us are going to lose a lot of money, regardless of whether or not we're directly invested in it.

When I was a freshman in college (roughly 10 years ago), I wrote in cursive for a group assignment in class. The student I handed my paper to could not read my hand writing and the look on his face was as if I had written in Mandarin.

Cursive is a lost art that's for sure.

I can read/write cursive. You could say my generation was the last one.

I appreciate beauty in things, but cursive is pointless (barring one or two letters).
