Bama's good. Don't get me wrong. We'll have to play lights out to win. But they play undefeated LSU the week after us and whoever wins that game is likely headed to Atlanta for the SECCG. They just played the top ten match up at TAMU. We're sandwiched in between two huge games, probably the two most important of their season. Is it possible that they overlook us thinking that we haven't beaten them in years and get too cocky? We'll see.

OP's thread title is misleading and shouldn't be a question, but a strong statement - allow me:

We Are Bama's Trap Game!

Just 1 more year and at least we will have a 50 percent chance of winning, won't have to say need 5 turn over's and a special team's TD to win.

Honestly, I don't want to cheapen the win if UT pulls it off.

I'm not calling for a win. Bama is the best team UT will have faced. There are a lot of factors in their favor.

But I see a path to victory. For the first time in awhile, UT has enough talent to win with great coaching, good execution, and some breaks.

If the game is coached like UGA... with UT trying to impose their will from the start AND Dobbs plays well... then UT has a shot. I think a better shot than many expect. The Bama D's Achilles Heel under Saban has been running QB's. It keeps them from anticipating so quickly then filling their gaps. I think the recipe is to sell out to stop Bama's run game then balance on O with Dobbs throwing and running.... pretty much the same as UGA.

Yes... Bama is a better team than UGA. OTOH, UGA only had 17 offensive points.

Bob Dylan wrote a song about this very exact predicament.
"Stuck in Mobile with them Memphis Blues Again"

Oh mama, can this really be the end?

We will never be a trap game for them and vice versa. Bammer fans despise and want to beat us as much as we do them.

Dude, after all that, you should have called for the win!

I'm calling it, Vols get the win!

We are coming for you Bama!

Go Vols!

I'm sure the Tenn / Ala rivalry is always going to be huge with the fans, but do you think the players and coaches look at this game with anymore pride or hatred than any other game against a highly ranked team? We no longer have a coaching tree that played in this game, and both teams have had decent winning streaks against the other in the past 20 years. Older fans look at this game differently, but I'm not sure today's players do!!!

It's ridiculous that one of the best rivalries in sports has been reduced to being considered a trap game for Alabama.

Time to change that.

I dont think we are a trap game but I totally agree with everything else. LSU is now undefeated and their game wilk decide the West. Its possible that Bama underestimates us and that would be a huge mistake. It's going to be a very tough game, but one I think we can win. Go Vols and Buck Fama!

So nice to read of all the hopes and dreams of a big big big upset over a top 5 team. Will be interesting to read all the vitriol & demands for firing of coaches and AD if the upset does not occur. GBO
