Are UK fans nice in Lexington?

To be fair, I've also heard the opposite in the Tommy Bowl for years and years. "Who cares Cats? We own you in football."

I went to Lexington in 2003 and 2005. Most all of the Kentucky fans were great at the Hotel. It was mostly Tennessee fans at the hotel, however. Stayed at the Marriott Griffin Gate Resort.. that is where the UT team stays. I heard alot of grumblings from UK fans at the stadium. Lots of stuff like "wait to basketball season.. we will kick your a$$ then".

Bah, don´t pay any attention to the Kentucky haters. Most of them have a cousin who lives in the Commonwealth that they can´t stand.

Kentuckians are some of the most genteel, polite people you´ll know.

There are also trash. Like anywhere. Every state has them.

As a season ticket holder before I left the country, I can say that for the most part, we treat opposing fans well. In previous years, most opposing fans were treated to a win by their team. There are exceptions, but you´ll find most Kentuckians eager to be polite to guests.

In prior years, scalpers were the norm. This year, it´s harder to come by them. If you´re wearing orange, you might have to pay double. :p I honestly don´t know what to tell you on that account. But in previous years, tix were not a problem.

Hey Brian, We have a new fan for you. He goes by Neyland Drive. Please take him and convert him to a KY fan. He is too good for us miserable Vol fans.:crossfingers:

No thanks. We have enough spoiled, snot-nosed basketball fans muttering, "Just wait until football season." :)

It's always been easy to get tickets to this game because there were normally tickets for sale at both schools' box offices. However, this year will be different. UK now holds the longest active losing streak against us, and they want to get that monkey off their back. They have a much better football team than they've had in the past 22 years, and ours is just so-so. We've had troubles in Lexington in the past. I think we hate the cold! I've seen us get down 21 points and come back to win. If we get down 21 points this year, we probably won't come back. I expect the tickets will be a more expensive and the big blue will be a more rabid than in years past.

All you guys are Welcome in Lexington.. We had some LSU fans at Big Blue Madness the night before the game. They had a blast.. If you come up to visit us, don't leave town without having dinner at Ramsey's. You fellows have this all wrong.. We are good folk.. Sure we want to beat the Vols, as you guys wanted to beat Alabama all those years.. Maybe the streak ends this year, maybe it doesn't. Either way you are welcome to come up and enjoy the game with us...

Spot on recomendation. Make sure you save room for pie. It is some of the best you will ever eat. Joe Balognas is also highly recommended if you have a family to feed.
