Are there really 51 Power 5 coaches better than Butch?

What you don't acknowledge is that that is inherently not objective. It's certainly not any more objective than comparing year one to year one and year two to year two. It's a subjective choice reflecting personal opinion

I'm sorry, Nash, but those are the only two years that Butch coached Tennessee while Harbaugh coached Michigan. They are the two years we have.

Not gonna go back and compare Butch's years at Cincinnati with Harbaugh's years at San Diego or anything like that.

We got 2015 and 2016. Soon, we'll see about 2017. I'm looking forward to it, how about you?

Let's settle this.

Who would swap Harbaugh for Jones today, straight up?

I'll count me as one. Emphatically.

Not at his pay rate *as of now- not to confuse the easily confused.

But if he actually beats those teams he was hired to, I'm definitely open.

But he has to stop the sleepovers.

This doesn't change anything. You are just giving reasons why your subjective choice was a good choice, without acknowledging that it's a subjective choice.

The posters talking up their own reasonableness are often the most biased of all, but they don't realize it. Which is even worse

Nope.

Loyalty is one of my values.

As long as he's our coach, I'm not gonna engage in any hypotheticals like this.

That doesn't mean I don't recognize his mistakes, or think continued lack of results (championships) is grounds for replacement with a new head coach. I do recognize his imperfections, and do hold him to the standard of championship football. He doesn't have forever to get it right.

But as long as he's our guy, I'm not gonna do him like that.

Loyalty.

As loyal as Butch was to Cincy or Colorado?

Butch has proven to be not a very intelligent guy a million time in just 4 years, but there's maybe no great example of his lacking iq than the fact that he used Hurd running out of the read option about 75% of the time while Kamara sat on the bench. Anyone on earth was capable of making the observation that Kamara fits the system way better (and would in fact fit any system better than Hurd). NFL scouts talked excessively about why Kamara didn't play more. Some thought maybe he had character issues or something. Of course, there's was nothing that prevented him from playing more except an inept coach

Butch has great work ethic and many other good qualities, but nobody that's unintelligent is ever going to win big in the league

Why not? You having to pony up some of the salary? Heh heh

So I'll mark charger and VFL-82 as yes's.

Anyone else care to dance?

Lol. You earned that like.

That's as close as I've come to being quoted for what I actually said, than anything else in the last hour.

Now if you will excuse me, JP and I have some Bigfoot money's we's gots to cash in on.

I love it, Especially Dr. Phil. This has been fun.

Let's just condense this multitude of posts into one.

I don't put Harbaugh into the upper tier of coaching for beating those Big Ten teams. I also would not put Jones into the upper tier for beating those same teams.
As a matter of fact, he has beaten those teams and I don't put him there. I do not care where they rank as for that, it still wouldn't make him a great coach. I will put either of them into the great coach category for actually beating other great teams.

This is what I actually said. Nothing about the SEC vs The Big Ten, Jones is better than Harbaugh or that I had a selfie with Bigfoot.

It's what I said from the beginning, and I still say the same. Everything else was added because the person I'm debating with, could find nothing wrong with my actual statements.

If Urban loses to Michigan the next 2 years is he no longer elite since OSU plays the same weak a-s Big 10 teams? Of course, Urban would have "health issues" if that happened

By the way, what kinda Chargers you representing?

Didn't say anything about Urban. But coaches can fall off as Phil did.
Harbaugh lost to Iowa? Yeah... that Iowa.

A 71 Charger was my 1st car.
Definitely nothing great about them, except for the fact that there is always something great about your first taste of freedom. Just a memory I won't forget.

I know what you mean. My first was a 73 Firebird. Love to have it back.

Don't try to analyze the NASCAR pun. There's no deeper meaning haha

(I used to live in Nashville, I actually don't anymore)

I wasn't, just being tongue and cheek.

We always talk about moving, if you don't mind, where did you move to and how does it compare to Nashville?

Me too.

I'm in NYC now, love both cities for different reasons. Nashville is becoming more hipster, but is still a great place to live, with more and more to do. Definitely missing that weather right now

I spent some time in Buffalo, about as close as I got.
Had a year in New Hampshire, the landscape reminded me very much of Tennessee. But the people or so... "blunt", it made me really miss the south.

I think the wife and I have decided to stay in Tennessee as long as we stay in the U.S.

We've considered some of the moderate climate locations though.
I seem to be reverse of most people, the older I get, the less I like the heat. Anything above 65 and I'm uncomfortable lol.
