Are there any Cuonzo supporters left?

I'm not even going to read this thread.

Unless Martin makes the Sweet 16 or makes it to the SEC championship... I don't believe in him.

What he has done to finish out the season would be equivalent to Dooley beating Vanderbilt and Kentucky to scrape into a bowl game. If those are your standards... okay. We all knew Dooley sucked after the first half of his third season. I still believed in Martin before this season started but the writing is on the wall unless he actually shows he can win. Otherwise, he's as mediocre as he's always been.

And let's be honest... comparing him to football or baseball isn't fair. Basketball requires the fewest amount of starters and contributing players. A single player can carry a basketball team. Even Marino couldn't carry 21 other starters. In other words, being a basketball coach is far easier than being a football or baseball coach. Comparing him to a guy that recruits 22 starters or 8 fielders/batters - 1 dh - 3 starting pitchers - a bullpen to 5 starters isn't the same at all. In no way should a basketball coach be given the same leeway as a football or baseball coach because his job is far easier. Hell, I'm a Pacers fan and the coach even admits their system is basic. Why are the Pacers winning? Either Martin sucks as a coach or he's recruiting the wrong players. He gets 5* recruits and still struggles to win. Something doesn't add up. It's literally the one team sport where it can take like 1 player to make a difference and carry the team. Sweet 16/SEC Championship appearance or bust.

But we sure as heck know you're going to comment on it.

Agree with #1.

With #2's approach, we'd still have Jerry Green.

IMO, just making the tourney occasionally isn't enough here. You have to earn the loyalty of a fickle fan base in order to fill TBA and sell popcorn.

Haters are gonna hate, but that's why a guy like CBP did so well...he said all the right things, and was a winner on the court as well. CCM just doesn't have the charisma to ensure this loyalty during occasional lulls that hit every program, so he has to win and win at a high level in order to keep the turnstile counts up.

Good post sheep.

Coach Green was a good coach with little, or less, player discipline and few freinds in the admin. If we would have found a way to keep em tho we wouldn't have had to endure the Buzz years.

Under Devoe we used to go every once and awhile. We replaced him with Houston. The death penelty would have been more humane.

lol! I'm with Jerry in telling the status quo to go shop at KMart if you don't like what you see. Since we all know lulls hit every program, what do I care whether you like my personality or not when that happens? What does that have to do with anything? So you're saying Pearl's personality got you through the 10-11 season when we seriously underachieved and were embarrassed in the 1st round of the NCAAT? A stripper's personality may have glossed that over but his didn't. Losing is losing.
