Are the six mid-tier bowls really the same?

LSU beat Texas A&M in their final game. Therefore, they are picked for Citrus.

On the other hand, UF will be on multigame losing streak. Depending on how bad Bama pounds them, hopefully, the Outback will also skip them. Plus, the Gators tend to poop in their pants at bowl games.

.

Not so fast...LSU AD announced in an on air interview that they didn't decided to keep Les Miles until the 3rd quarter of the A&M game. Saying something like that in public shows the issues going on in that athletic department. I think there would be a strong argument that Tennessee is on the best trajectory, most stable, and a very loyal fanbase. I can see Citrus giving us a shot possibly. It is a longshot, but I don't think LSU or Florida is a given by any means.

With the way UT traveled last year to the bowl game the Citrus could very well pick UT. It is a lot about how much money teams are going to bring into the bowls. Or at least the big bowls. Ole Miss will go to Sugar Bowl. Either Citrus or Outback will be fine with me.

2nd longest win streak in the SEC. Strongest SOS of any team they'd be considering.

According to Sagarin, LSU's SOS is (8), UT's is (35), & UF's is (46). I think the reasons for the discrepancy is LSU plays in the SEC West and they didn't play their 1st game of the season against a cream-puff.

the bowls make requests to the SEC office on which team they would like but the SEC office in the end will decide who goes where. The AD that lobbies the SEC the best can get his team to the bowl they want to go to. its all political
