Who knows. But I read one atty is being paid $500 an hour while the other $300 per hr. Other parts of the legal team (paralegal, investigators) charged $300 plus per hour. So we are looking at a ridiculous amount of $$$ spent as this continues to drag.

Anyone remember how long these usually drag out? I know it’s going to be variable but I think we had Glazier here before during the Pearl fiasco.

Glazier gets $500/hour, Skillman gets $375/hour, and the other service professionals start at $150/hour.

Nothing about that seems too crazy considering the university is trying to save $12,800,000...

If the school can shell out $200k to save almost $13M that would 100% go to a new staff, then this is a no brainer...

No doubt. It's going to take the same number of billable hours whether they work weekends or not.

If we’re not careful we’re going to end up owing the attorneys $12MM.

But if you get that reputation you stop getting hired. This is an elite group of attorneys. You want to do a great job, quickly; leading to many referrals and other job opportunities. Even the Jr staffers want to grab some bullet points for their cv.

Where I used to work we had a corporate attorney who had been an associate at one of the big Chicago law firms. He told me once the most billable hours he ever got in one day was 26. They could only bill in 15 minute increments so reading an email that took 5 minutes cost the client 15 minutes

Wow that's a great way to get sued by clients. He knows that is discoverable, right?

I hope the NCAA will show leniency if major violations are discovered by this firm. Hopefully it’s something minimal but wouldn’t surprise me if we end up losing more money when it’s all said and done (vs paying Pruitt his buyout) plus NCAA sanctions. I’m not a negative person but there hasn’t been too many positive things for our program over the 15 plus years.
