Are Shamburger and Middleton available Saturday?

Middleton should play this week. How much is a different story. Now, if Shamburger doesn't play, I want to know what's going on with Theo Jackson. I guess he played some last week, but it'd be nice if he can start at the Star this week instead of Slaughter. McCullough starting as well would be a big boost.

HIPAA. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. One P. Two As.

Good luck. Many here still haven't caught on to spelling "Niedermeyer".

What if we started sharing a rumor that you had an STD, since its a rumor it doesn't hurt anyone.........right?

That qualifies as defamation per se in some jurisdictions, so it raises additional issues.

Judging by Pruitt's comments, Shamburger is unlikely but Burrell and McCollough will be back. He said he "hopes" Middleton gets to play. The way Pruitt has acted this year... I would call that a yes.
Both were listed on the depth chart

Again, that is not a question you should be asking or posting. PHI shared without the person's permission is punishable under HIPPA ($10K) per occurrence. It doesn't matter the source, it could be seen as a sensitive matter more now than ever before.
Lol message board speculation is a HIPPA violation ???
Sheesh what are a murse ?

Attorney here.

This is wrong. "Covered Entities" under HIPAA are explicitly laid out in 45 CFR §160.103. They are:

Health plans
Most health care providers, including doctors, clinics, hospitals, nursing homes, and pharmacies
Health care clearinghouses

HIPAA also applies to the "Business Associates" of Covered Entities. "Business Associates" is defined in the chapter.

Carry on.
Hey there's no room for logic here!!!!

HIPAA is a law governing the medical information possessed by an employer or other organizations. It essentially prevents your employer from releasing sensitive medical information without your permission... and YOU are the arbiter in most situations as to what is "sensitive". The exceptions are rare and carefully administered. Essentially a company may share your condition (Covid for instance) with someone who may be infected as a result of close contact with you. Even then... there are risks. The safe course is to get your permission... in writing.

HIPAA does not govern media or rumors or any of that.

If the source is any of the "covered entities" you mentioned, they can be held liable, why would we be discussing? the point is...it is an inappropriate question, and anyone who has direct information concerning PHI, could be held liable by the patient for sharing PHI. What you are quoting is the CFR, a client could argue that information obtained through an unauthorized source. If you want to implicate anyone.......go ahead, my advice.........I wouldn't test the legal side of a defendant. If your practice is actually in Health Care, I will yield to your background, but I am guessing it is not.
I've been subjected to HIPAA and PHI training since the laws were passed. You are just pain wrong.

Oh, ok. I didn't know that. If he's not playing, why not just pencil Slaughter in there? All this secrecy stuff is annoying.
Pruitt’s from the Belichick School Of Open Information.
