Are people going crazy because they think Oklahoma is a 8-5 football team?

What do the last 7 years have to do with this coach and these players? This is the problem. Folks like you bring too much baggage from the past. What happened before 2013 should have no bearing on butch jones and this team.

And if you can't get that stop being a vol fan.

Sthu. Been a fan, and a better fan longer than you've been alive. You go do you, with your head firmly up your arse and I'll pull for the Vols like I have for 40+ years while calling it as I see it.

So the coaches missed a field goal that would have won us the game?

So the coaches dropped a pass that would have either gave us a TD or another field goal?

So our coaches had two straight holding penalties that gave OU automatic first downs to keep drives going?

It wasn't the coaches alone. Could the coaches done better a points during the game? Absolutely. But like it or not VN, the coaches did enough for us to win the game.

This is the worst thing in the history of the internet.

Tulsa put all those yards up in the passing game. Tennessee is a smash mouth football team. Oklahoma strength is in its Run Defense which is what is baffling as far as Tennessee continuing to smash it's head into a wall.

It's about the same as Bowling Green putting up all the yards they did against Tennessee except that Tulsa recovered the ball off a Squib kick and hit a Hail Mary to close the half.

You don't believe in hyperbole, do you?

I was being 100% literal.

Guy acts like we are bad people for blaming the guy making more in one year to coach the team than half the posters here will make in the next 40. He then goes on to blame a bunch of unpaid athletes that are doing the best they can to win under the direction of a head coach that got embarrassed by Derek Dooley, a DC that got fired at Georgia, and an OC that hasn't seen a football since Bush was President.

Butch mismanaged the Oklahoma game.
Just like he mismanaged Florida.
Just like Vandy '13.

Tired of watching his team's take leads and then give them away. At some point, surely you'll expect him to beat quality teams in the SEC not named South Carolina...

Then you have limited exposure to the sum total of data/opinions expressed in the "history of the internet."

We're you not the one claiming to want Richt and Miles? They both lose at least one game a year. Would you commit suicide every year, every time they lost? I understand being upset, but you have taken it to an entirely new level. You may need to find you a hobby. especially if this loss has you this ruled up.

Not once did I ever say I wanted Richt or Miles to be UT's coach. You've completely and purposefully mischaracterized what I've said time and again now. Said as a Vols fan, I can appreciate the jobs they've done at their respective schools. You're clearly not mature enough to have some perspective about other SEC coaches....it's Butch or nothing, that's your perogative.

And I'm not aware that I've committed suicide after Tennessee's first loss this year....do you know something I don't, perhaps you should let my wife and kids, maybe even my employer know.

I'm not upset with where Tennessee is, just have questions/reservations regarding Butch's game management, like approximately half of all Vols fans seem to have at this point. And rather than having an open enough mind to consider the valid concerns, guys like you and Dobbs4 just reflexively go all knee jerk and question other fans' loyalties. Whatever. If my posts bother you so much, which they clearly do, improve both our experiences on the forum by using your ignore button.

C'mon guys give it a break. I came here to wish you the best for the upcoming Florida game. And I do hope you guys stomp a everglades size mudhole in them. And I saw this thread and a bunch of crap about Mayfield. Seriously give him some credit the only sport this guy was playing last year was intramural softball. Tennessee was the second game he played in almost two years
. Tulsa has a serious offensive team and they are going to win out their div. They have some bad boy receivers. As for Baker...he ran for his life AGAIN because of the young OF and your guys roughing up our Center SR Ty Darlington and Guard Kasitati :cray:. The run/pass against Tulsa was 44 rush 38 pass but Baker still threw 85% completion rate going 32 of 38 for 487 yards and 4td with no ints and ran for 85 yards and 2 more TDS. So dont sell yourselves short for a heck of a game you played and dont bash a young man (Jeff Driskel comments) he has only played 11 career games total between OU and TT. I feel for your loss weve lost big ones also and I know your pain. You may think Im just a Sooner jerk but I think you guys are great. Ive loved jesting back and forth on the forum here these last two years and Ive loved our back to back series, your AD has steel balls to schedule that kind of a game when everyone else is playing cupcakes. Hold your heads as high as your tradition. I'll be watching and rooting for the Vols this week. BEAT FLORIDA!

Butch is my coach. I won't be fantasizing about other coaches. In my opinion, both Richt and Miles under achieve given the talent that they have. However, how can you have reservations regarding Butch, but you admire Richt and Miles.

I want a coach who underachieves with 2 NC games on his resume.

Richt and Miles have won the SEC. Georgia and LSU look dominant this year, not just good.

Regardless of your feelings about Richt and Miles one thing can be said about both of them. They have proven they can win big games against ranked opponents. Butch has yet to do so outside of SC.

But they falter every year. Is your hang up that Butch loss to a ranked opponent? What about losing games that they are suppose to win? That's just as bad, if not worse.

Again, they look dominant every year....and then they lose. How many undefeated seasons has Richt had? What about Miles? Both Richt and Miles are in recruiting hotbeds and shouldn't have to leave the state for talent. Miles won a NC with Sabans players. He went to the last NC with his players and was outcoached....by Saban.

Do you still view Oklahoma as one of the best teams in the country after Tulsa gained over 600 yards of offense on them and put up 38 points in Norman? The score was 38-31 deep into the 3rd quarter. Tulsa lost 10 games last season. Makes our 250 total yards really really embarrassing.

Mayfield had 572 yards and 6 TDs. He is pretty darn good

They falter every year? So they fail to win their division every year? Who cares? I would much rather win at least 8 games and compete for my division title every season than squeak out 5-7 wins and not even sniff at one. My hang up on Butch is more on how he lost than the actual loss. The SEC aint the place to play scared and to lose.

Mismanaging one game per year doesn't sound so bad, actually.

Miles followed Saban. Rebuild = 0 years

Richt followed Donnan. Rebuild = 1 year

Jones followed Dooley. Rebuild = 3 years

This isn't that hard to understand. Our pathetic OL situation is squarely on Dooley's 2012 recruiting class.
