Are Gator fans delusional or just stupid?

I cant get over the ones who are willing to bet their lives Tim Tebow will have a better pro career than Peyton Manning. They are absolutely serious too!

Then he needs to start by getting the pine splinters out of his butt and prove he's capable. So far, Tebow is doing nothing but proving my hopes that he fails miserably in the NFL.

You mean how they were so afraid of being beat deep they gave soft zone to Hunter on a 15 yard curl route? Or the point after Hunter went out when they eliminated the deep coverage and started blitzing.
You may have seen it differently... but they were trying to bracket Hunter. He had a 3 yard cushion while being double covered.

Of course a player with that kind of skill has no ability to change the complexion of a game...

no one knows what the outcome would have been if JH didnt get hurt he got hurt on the first drive, when he went down there was also 15-20 plays in that games playbook that went down. everyone was shell shocked and scrambling al over the place.

Florida has just started their downward spiral so they haven't gotten accustomed to it yet. We've already hit bottom and are climbing back up. They are one rung above us on the ladder, but they are heading down and we are heading up.

About the only thing comparable between the two is that the injuries took the wind out of the sails for both teams.

Let's say Justin Hunter would have 3/4 as good of a game against UF as he did against Cinci (had he remained uninjured) He still would have had 100+ yards.

Are they comparable? Yes. One's the best receiver at the beginning of the game. The other is the team's QB. But if Justin Hunter had been in the UF game.. the score wouldn't have been 33-23. jmho

I'm loosely remembering but he caught the ball, landed and curled up on the ground before a UF player got there. It seemed a far wider berth than 3 yards.

I honestly think they were going to try and keep Hunter contained underneath instead of risking the very legit big play. We only got 1/3 of a series with him so of course this is all total speculation.

UF went rampant on us in their first 2 series with Demps/Rainey. If one of them went out, even thouh they were largely contained (minus Rainey bust in 3rd Quarter) we'd be hearing about 600 yards and 60+ points.

Losing Brantley didn't matter,Bama would have won if UF still had Tebow.Hate to say it but Bama's damn good. GO VOLS!!!

Tennessee would have lost, even with Hunter. Florida would have lost, even with Brantley.

/thread
Hunter does completely change the game. Something like if Rainey went down in the first quarter. He completely changes the defensive philosophy on the game. I wouldn't say we win that game but I would say it would be very tight if Justin doesn't go down.

Let me explain. I have neighbor who is a gator fan. His comment to me after the last two games were this: "we would have beaten you guys even with Hunter but Bama only beat us because Brantley went out." I was speechless and thought I would post this to see if my experience with this was unique or others have had similar. Go Vols! Beat Ga like Elin Woods beat Tiger's suv...

Your original question can be answered simply by saying YES, they are both delusional and stupid!

Just stupid.

Have you ever seen that silly clapping thing they do with their hands, claiming that it bears some similarity to a gator chomp?

It doesn't matter what would have happened, could have happened, or should have happened, in either case. It didn't. That's reality.

Your Florida fan friend is an idiot, but until we actually start beating Florida, then there's not a lot of talking you can do.

without brantley, florida will probably get blown out by lsu and may lose to auburn, georgia and usc. It could be a long year. Tennessee or Georgia will win the SEC East!

I didn't realize Brantley was the star defensive player that would have kept Bama from scoring pretty much whenever they wanted to
