It's not the color of Leak's skin that bothers me, I'm just more impressed with the color of the 4 SEC Championship rings and National Championship ring glittering on Wuerrfel's fingers..not the Outback bowl on Leaks :devilsmoke:

hey guys im new here but would like to chime in on this, its what have u done for me lately world, i think this article makes the SEC look bad as a whole just not as florida fans but as a SEC whole. This is just given ammo to other conferences to spew their crap about our confernce. (sry about the spelling im at work)

First ..yes there is still racism in America (that means the whole country) and we all have keep working on it so it is eliminated..
Second, I have been to the swamp more times than I can count, read gator boards and know gators and I have never heard comment about Leak because of his race.....

But let me throw this out there..what if Leak falters some and Urban wants to try the new kid...what do you think that Daddy Leak will point to for why Chris was benched ...... Urban has a problem to work on unless Leak plays lights out all 12 + games.......

Just another way this story can grow...and not a good way for the Gators.

Leak is treated with disdain instead of a deserved delight, cursed and not coddled, taunted by some -- not all, but enough -- testy Gator-head fans who pummel and pulverize Leak anonymously on websites, gutless and invisible, spewing ugliness as if they were paid by the slur. Sometimes I think there are fans who equate bashing players in chat rooms with getting cyber-booty.

Personally, I remember in the 2003 UT-UF game, I thought inserting Leak into the game was a mistake. I thought Ingle Martin was doing a decent job. I think when Leak came in, our defense really got fired up, because they were angry about him spurning the Vols. Anyway, I just thought that was an example of a white QB getting benched in favor of a black QB at Florida. If Leak gets benched in 2006 (which I doubt will happen) I don't think race will have anything to do with it. In fact, had that other QB not transferred (I forget his name, but he was black) I bet he would have gotten a shot at playing ahead of Tebow.

Curtis and his son said that HC Fulmer was dishonest during Leak's recruitment and no one disputed that claim. WE never saw a SINGLE example as well. Oh well, he is just laying the foundation for his point of view when Tebow gets significant playing time over his son. Don't for one minute think that this is the last you will hear of Curtis Leak and his opinion.

I was thinking the same thing... it's surprising to me that Leak is even close to catching and breaking any of Wuerfell's records.

It strikes me as strange when he references the south as the race capital of the world but yet fails to include how GM, based out of Michigan, the north, screwed the African Americans by overcharging them compared to other racist that eventually lead to a $200 million dollar lawsuit judgment againt them in reparations.

I've never liked Leak just because I think he will do anything to dodge a hit. It could be the national title, and up to him to get that 4th and 10, with a linebacker between him and that line and he would slide down and say "sorry guys." That's why I don't think highly of Leak... I could care less whether he were blue, black, or green. I'm sure most Gators that don't like the kid feel the same way.
