Are all these supposed hires just Hamilton's way of checking the pulse of the fans?

I believe that these are all just names thrown up to see how fans react. The Cutcliffe supposed hire drew ire from Vols everywhere, and the Derek Dooly hire is doing the same and worse. I Hamiliton is smart, he should either make Kippy coach, which I think most fans would be content with, or fork out major cash, and get a big name in here. Comments

Ill give Hamilton credit- he has had everyone fooled- and payback may be hell from the press!

I heard that Mike Hamilton hasn't actually interviewed anyone and is going to announce himself at 6:66 PM tonight as the next Head Football Coach of the Tennessee Volunteers. My sources are extremely reliable and have divine ancestry.

I have been wondering about all the "rumors" that have been put out, it wasn't quite on this same level the last time around. Anyone else wonder if all these "targeted coaches" were being leaked to discredit Hamilton and make him look like a scrambling fool who couldn't land a coach?

I don't know if he is or isn't, since you are so sure of yourself please give me some evidence that backs up your belief that he is better. 4-8 in a very weak conference doesn't exactly get me pumped up.

Last year we were out manned on both sides of the ball and still competed with the best of the conference. Doesn't look like he was that bad of a coach now does it?

My sources at the Daily Times are telling me that Maryville High School's coach George Quarles has been contacted by Mike Hamilton.

I'm beginning to think this is like the WWE sports entertainment network on steroids. With the SEC, the NCAA and the media as the scripted protagonists. If my theory is correct Jon Gruden will be named Coach in Prime Time tonight................................:eek:hmy:

You couldn't be more wrong. Let a season go by with a half empty stadium, see if the fans have nothing to do with it.

See what happens when merchandise sales tank faster than the housing market.

Fans have much more to do with it than you tend to think.

Did go 4-8 in weak conference. Took Boise to wire and had two bad breaks to lose to LSU at LSU. Recruits at a mid major against UTexas, LSU, Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Oklahoma. Im an LSU alum, I had UT down as a win next season until UT hires Dooley. You think Lane Kiffin wins more games at LaTech last year than Dooley. You guys honestly don't know how good this guy can coach. Wait until presser's come out from the Saban's, Meyer's, Miles' about the hire. They know

Did you read the poster's original question?

A half empty stadium is the results of LOSING.

Hamilton is paid to hire a coach that wins. If he's getting direction to do that based on what fan's on a message board have to say, then he needs to go faster than Kiffin did.

But that's just what I tend to think.

Tony Dungy will be the OC and Bill Cowher will be the DC. Peyton Manning will retire and be the quarterbacks coach and then petition the NCAA for an extra year of eligibility, which he will win for getting shafted out of the Heisman. We will go undefeated, and Manning will finally win the Heisman, which will make him the oldest person to win the Heisman. At the end of the season, Phil Fulmer will score a deal with Hollywood to take his screen play about this series of events to the big screen. Eveyone will be casted as themselves. Think about how recruits will perceive this (not positively) no one knows this guy....

I personally see this as a move that does make Hamilton a genius.....Think about it. Bring in a HC that is a current HC/AD that way when you get fired in a few days, you know of at least one opening.
