I've got 32GB used up on my iPod Touch and I've had it for 4 months. I have a bunch more stuff to download on it because I haven't had the time to get all of my CDs burned yet. I probably have another 3-5 GB to use just on what I have left, plus I have upcoming vacation pictures that will use up some space and videos from itunes.

I'd love to get a 64 but ATT wants $250 extra since I've had the 4 for less than a year. I'm up to 68GB of music but I think I could manage. :)

If I had 1000 songs on my phone I would go crazy trying to figure out what I wanted to listen to. I have a 100 or so but usually just stream a lot.

My uncle came to our house last night and brought over a harddrive he got from a friend that has 209GB of music...over 58k songs. Any band/song you can think of. It's overwhelming...way too much music for me. I got about 20GB in my iTunes, but I usually only put 1000 or so on my iPhone, mainly for plugging into my car stereo. I use Pandora a lot more than the music.

I've got 20.75 GB of music and over 10GB of personal and work photos. I only have 3 GB of movies right now, though.

But since I have dropped Netflix, that movie number will increase.

I ordered the 16GB because that is the same I have for 3GS and never come close to filling it. I only put the songs and photos on there that I want. Most of my GB's are Apps

I am currently using the WiFi sync feature with iOS 5. It's way cool.

When you connect iPhone via iTunes just enable the WiFi sync feature on the homepage of iPhone where it shows memory. Then u can either select the playlists or whatever you want and you can unhook iPhone and it'll work like a charm. Takes longer IMO but its great.

I just installed ios5 last night. Using wifi sync means you aren't using iCloud, right? I'd like to be able to use both.

Well, I don't think you can fully use iCloud yet. They are resetting storage for the launch on Wednesday. You can use wifi sync though. Just have the iTunes 10.5 beta and when you connect your iPhone check the option that says something about allowing wifi syncing with iPhone. Then you can just pick your playlists like you normally would or use entire library and it'll remember it. Won't need to connect iPhone to iTunes anymore.

I don't know if it's fully functional, but icloud works for me.

It worked for me when I tried it, but I think they are resetting it for next week.

BTW, has anyone checked their Apple order? Mine has changed to "Preparing for shipment".

Just search for the iOS 5 Gold Master. It doesn't require a developer account, and then download iTunes 10.5 beta 7. You have to do an install from restore.

I'll probably just do it Wednesday through iTunes. A question though since this is my first upgrade. When I get my new phone do I set it up as new or what? I wanna be sure to get all my pics, vids, apps, etc transferred over.

If you set it up as new, you will have to add all of your apps and music. Instead, after the installation, choose the most recent backup.

Thanks for the advice and this it what I did. Even the rep I spoke to recommended it. Also said the line I upgraded will not be effected one bit.

so i went into bestbuy today to "pre order" the phone... i was told that i could pay $50 today to reserve one, but I might not get one until the second shipment (and was told more than likely would not get one until the second shipment), so I asked what the purpose was of the $50 reservation was actually for, and couldn't get an answer.

i also asked if i actually HAD to do the $50 dollar reservation, or if I could test my luck and go get in line on Friday and pick one up when they open at 8am. this was left unanswered as they hem hawed around it, I just walked away.

Does anyone know if I'll be able to just show up Friday and pick a phone up, provided they have one in stock?

I hear SAMs will be getting a few in. If best buy is giving you the run around the Apple store may be the next best thing but they will probably have a 2 mile line but probably not much different at your carrier store. Wherever you go that has one in stock should give you one assuming they have filled their preorders.
