That is the latest excuse to come out of the Kerry camp. I guess Kerry believes it is better to look ill prepared and lazy in giving a speech then to say that he meant that comment as an afront to the troops.

Until the late 1990s, when he was finally gearing himself for a presidential campaign, he made comments against US troops on a regular basis.

The day before this broke, I picture Karl Rove sweating bullets and saying to his people, "Boys, it's lookin' bad...real bad. Now, go out there and find me somethin' to work with. I don't care what it is, just find me some dirt...anything!" And of course, Kerry's blunder was the best they could do, so they're putting all their eggs into it. I mean, come on, do you really think this off-the-map speech at some nowheresville high school would've drawn any attention, if not for the Republican strategists spooking around, grasping for some pitiful ray of hope and desparate to turn nothing into something? I think it's a pretty good guage of Republican desparation over election day, that they would dive-tackle something like this to try to stir up the voters. Pleeeeze! Is that the best they got? Too little, too late, Karl.

it must be pissing you off that it's working. Darth Rove and his minions are always one step ahead of the left's squadrons of flying monkeys.

it's also apparent you've never worn a uniform or served for something larger than yourself.

For many, Kerry's actions and words cut deep....for others they have little or no meaning .....I served on the rivers in Nam at the same time as Kerry. He represents weakness and is self serving ....he will never be elected as President of this great nation....the veterans of Viet Nam will not let this happen. Now you can add our troops in Iraq to that list as well. Kerry is reducing himself to a minor player capable of agitation, not only to the GOP but as well to the Dems. I think Hillary will dispense of this guy's political powers before too long.

Ummm, the speach was given to College Students.

To steal one of Kerry's lines, if you listened to that speach and believe what he says,and don't think that was a big deal, you're an idiot.

If anyone truly believes that Kerry was directing that at the troops, you're out of touch with reality. While I personally think that Kerry is a doucebag, I know that calling the entire military stupid is something that he wouldn't do.

You might want to at least qualify that with a "something that he wouldn't do 'in 2006.' "
