Appalachian State

I hope we are very well prepared. I know we will win. Just don't want to look sluggish. Like the north Texas game.

Yes, I get that. I love to watch that game replayed. Perfect storm for UM. But AS recruits some pretty good athletes still. They won't roll over. I'm not saying it'll be that close, but I don't think it'll be a big blowout either.

You guys got UL Lafayette eh? I think UL Lafayette recruits some pretty good athletes. They won't roll over. I'm not saying it'll be that close, but I don't think it'll be a big blowout either.

It's been said already, but this is the same chatter as the lead up to Utah State. We will roll them. Butch's strength is the film/pregame.

I'm confused as to why. Personally, I think it would be kinda awesome, plus as well as VN travels, it would be a MONSTER boost to the local economy in that area.

I agree with you sir. Think it would be an awesome travel game. Boone it beautiful. Take in the sites do some fishing. Then watch the men in Orange. Sounds like a good week to me.

ASU was 11-2 last year.... and played 4 teams with a winning record. The combined record of their regular season opponents including Clemson was something like 50-74.

Their wins besides FCS Howard came against teams with D's ranked 98, 92, 74, 93, 21, 57, 118, 90, and 83.

The O's that helped them to a high national ranking were bad outside of Clemson.... very bad on average. The two good O's they played, Clemson and Ark State, both scored over 40 pts against them.

UT should score more than 40... probably more than 50. App St shouldn't score until late in the game when back ups are playing.

Missy St does things like this and I don't understand why. I can't find the incentive. Since 2008 they've played at LA Tech (which they're doing again in 2017), MTSU, UAB, Troy, South Alabama, and Southern Miss. This yr they play at UMass (granted they play at Gillette but still) and BYU.

I'm with you...I'd be completely embarrassed if we played road games like that.

Edit: oh and UT wins 41-14.

It gives the kids a chance to travel. Not that those are glamorous places but a new city is a new city if you didn't get to travel as a kid.

I bet if we schedule a home and home with Hawaii or calTech it would sway a recruit or 2. Not because they are a phenomenal opponent either.

Also, never under estimate a recruiting trip in disguise. Playing close to a kids home may be the only chance some family members get to see their kid play. Jmo

Vols win big, but starters don't play the 2nd half. Plays are vanilla and Shoop doesn't unleash the hounds until BaB.

Get your facts straight.Record crowd is 31,531.Future plans to get 43,000.

Yes, our record attendance at KBS is 31,531. It's also true that our official seating capacity is 21,650, though temporary seats in the north endzone make football season capacity 23,150.

The key to seating over 100% of capacity at games is the grass hill surrounding the south endzone. This area is general admission and extends the number of seating options dramatically.

For the 2015 season, they're adding terraces atop the athletic center on the west side. There are also plans to ... eventually ... enclose the north endzone and add permanent seating there.

Don't even get us started on the track discussion. If someone would kindly donate the $2 million needed to build a decent track somewhere else ... along with some flat land to put it on ... we'd be in business.

I'm looking forward to our visit to Knoxville. SEC football is the best by far! See you in September!

Not sure if this was posted anywhere else but
Appalachian State All-Sun Belt First Team CB Latrell Gibbs ruled ineligible for 2016. Had 7 INTs last yr. Definitely a big loss for them even though we would have smacked them by 30 either way

Losing Latrell Gibbs for the season is a tough one, indeed. Someone else is gonna have to step up and make things happen. Hopefully, Latrell will get back on his feet academically so he can return next year.

Thankfully, football is a team sport. :)
