Just finished my film review of the game Thursday. Like everyone else I was disappointed by the performance. But not as much as I was before watching the game again. Yes we made a ton of self-induced mistakes. Yes we didn't show much game-plan wise. And yes we should have won by alot more. But listen this was no random Group of 5 team.

Just look at their players PHYSICALLY. They look power 5 caliber. Very good looking athletic bodies. Compare that to the bodies of the players at schools like UMass that pushed Florida or South Alabama that beat Miss State. The players on those teams did not look physically up to par. App State looked the part.

I was really impressed with App State's team. By the end of the year the media will be talking about App State like they did Memphis last year. A group of 5 team that could beat alot of Power 5 teams.

And I guarantee they beat Miami September 17. The game is looking more and more to me like when Ole Miss traveled up to Memphis last year and lost. The game will be at App State. It'll be their biggest home game in program history. They'll be confident based on how they pushed us.

I got App State shocking the nation and beating Miami in 2 weeks.

I think Appalachian State goes 10-2 and winds up playing Southern Miss in the New Orleans Bowl.

App State's RB, o-line, and linebackers were physically as big as you expect from Power 5 teams. That's about it. The difference between them and UMass, Liberty, etc is that they have a lot of team speed and athleticism that can match up to most of the better teams. They likely don't have the depth to pull off a similar performance late in the season, but they don't need it to win with their schedule. Those kids are also really well coached.

"Film review"? Lol

I think some of your conclusions are somewhat valid, but my God stop making your DVR and remote sound so pretentious.

Oh yeah, they may be. Besides Miami, they play a schedule of powerhouses like Old Dominion, Texas State, Troy, and Ga Southern. I can see them going 10-2 easily.

I guarantee that if they beat Miami, go 10-2, and win a bowl game...they'll have a new coach next season...:)

GO VOLS!

I think they lose to Miami and win every Sunbelt Conference game. Coach Satterfield would be a good hire for Georgia Tech,Vanderbilt or Kentucky if they're looking for a new head coach in December

Exactly. Their 2s and 3s is what would keep them from performing well in a power 5 conference over the course of a grueling football season.

But in terms of one off games, they have the top end talent to beat a team like Miami in 2 weeks.

To early to tell but it's seems obvious they'll be very competitive this year. They are strong on both lines and that typically ends up with a lot of Ws.

I'd put money on Appy State winning that one, but it won't be a shock.

App State is better than most people think, but I'm not sure they're that good yet. That being said, if you are surprised by how App State matched up, you haven't been paying attention.

Either way, Appalachian St. is a well coached football team. Not to mention that their offense isn't easy to prepare for so believe it or not, it was a close win but a good win. I still say they go 9-3 or 10-2 at best.
