That coach seems like he's got things straight. I hope they win every game after Thursday.
Here's to hoping App State plays great football and makes a game of it. Why would a rabid Vol fan make such a wish? There's no telling how V-Tech will play our guys 9 days later, so revealing what needs to be tweaked will help UT win before the largest crowd in CFB history. Satterfield's a class man and clearly has a bright future and...for your sake AppFan82, I hope he sticks around and makes APSU a juggernaut in your conference.Scott Satterfield is a class act. He runs a well-disciplined, hardworking team and expects great things from the kids on and off the field.
App's summer conditioning program is a contest between "teams" of players. The competition obviously has a strong S&C component. The other facets of the competition are classroom success and community service. Our coaches and players are well aware that very few of them will have meaningful NFL careers. Therefore, the coaches coach much more than x's and o's. It's great to be a Mountaineer!
The only downside to having a solid coach like Satterfield at our level is that he's likely to be lured away at some point for bigger and better.
122 hours to kickoff ... but who's counting?
What's he supposed to say?
Saying this, his team looks great if they compete well and has a ready "reason" if UT blows them out. If he says UT isn't as good then he provide bulletin board material AND makes his team look really bad if UT wins big.
Nice for him to say.... but not wise to put too much into it.
