AP Voter Releases Preseason Top 25 Ballot

We go from not even being ranked for several years to 7 or 10 depending on the poll... and we really haven't done anything yet... this is way too much hype.... I would feel more comfortable with a 12-14 ranking and the climb by proving it on the field ... we can show we have a lot of proven talent coming back and are on the rise.... but this top 10 stuff is too much and I hope we aren't setting ourselves up... if we don't live up to the hype then everyone will have a field day with us "being overrated"...

It's certainly an interesting list. I don't think Texas will end up cracking the top 25 before it's said and done.

But Bama at #4 made me chuckle.

His quote from the first page follows. Based on his explanation, he thinks we finish 7th.

"As always, it’s a reflection of how I believe things will shake out in the end: The No. 1 team is my projected national champion.

The AP is purposefully vague when it comes to preseason ballots. It wants a variety of opinions and approaches. I’m not much interested in which team(s) might be the best in August and therefore take the long view.

I’ll adjust the order as soon as meaningful results dictate. Given the epic schedule for Week One, the meaningful results will come immediately."

It feels like the good ole days again ladies and gentlemen. Its going to look good seeing the vols with a single digit number beside there name again. Shew its been a while. Gbo!!!

All I can say is that CBJ has accomplished exactly what he said that he would....

We are primed and in perfect position to make a run to the Final Four.....

Now--it's just PUT UP OR SHUT UP.....

We should be undefeated and in the Top 4 when Bama comes to town.....IF WE are actually as good as everyone THINKS we are....

You either win or you don't. That is all that matters. In the end it doesn't matter what people are saying or expecting. Nothing against the quoted post. Debating the virtues and vices of the hype train is fine and all but it is just part of the heat that cooks the cake. In the end the cake is what all that the fuss is about.

Yep he has said this and has proved it, he has gotten Tennessee back and we should acknowledge CBJ for getting us back.. Been a very long time for me to feel really good about Tennessee football... Thank you CBJ!

don't sweat it...Notre Dame has been "overrated" for years, so why don't we just run with it...no big whoop...:)
