I don't condone the behavior of the fans throwing stuff. But in almost any other major stadium in the SEC under the same circumstances, I believe you would have had the same results. A long night game with lots of alcohol consumed, bad game-changing officiating, multiple fake injuries, etc. can lead to unintended consequences. Had this happened to Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Florida, Auburn etc. The reaction of the fans would have been the same.

Curious where the moral police and the calls to Jesus Christ to throw our fans in a lake of fire were at when Ole Miss did the same to our basketball team. Guess they had the night off then.

Every SEC stadium except vandy

I remember watching us beat Vandy at Vandy to secure our Sugar Bowl bid as a kid and sugar cubes rained down for the sky.

The end result could have been avoided by the SEC. The trash on the field gives the SEC office another week to not acknowledge the officiating mistakes and take the focus off them.
