I don't condone the behavior of the fans throwing stuff. But in almost any other major stadium in the SEC under the same circumstances, I believe you would have had the same results. A long night game with lots of alcohol consumed, bad game-changing officiating, multiple fake injuries, etc. can lead to unintended consequences. Had this happened to Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Florida, Auburn etc. The reaction of the fans would have been the same.

The end result could have been avoided by the SEC. The trash on the field gives the SEC office another week to not acknowledge the officiating mistakes and take the focus off them.
