I'll give my thoughts
Tall buildings: Rockefeller for sure. You get the rest of the city in the view
Parks: Central Park. You could spend all day there and still not see everything
Water stuff: Staten Island Ferry. It's free!
Museums: 9/11 Museum, AMNH
Fun Outdoor Areas: too many to name
Sports: Never done sports in NY. Went to PBR at Madison Square Garden once. The arena does have an aura about it, but it's a bit of a dump really
Food
Pizza: Bleecker Street; get the Nonna Maria. Trust me.
Italian: Paesano's
Tacos: Los Tacos No. 1. Several locations.
Bagels: Ess-A-Bagel has the best selection
Fancy Michelin Star Restaurant: Can't help you there. I'm cheap.
Steakhouse: Gallagher's in the Theatre District. They do their lunch special until 4. One of the better steaks I've ever had...but the sauce is where it's at
Sweets: Magnolia Bakery for banana pudding. Junior's for cheesecake
