We should send Nico's father a thank you note for getting him out of Tennessee. I almost feel sorry for him getting bad advice from father and other adults. Still, I don't want to see him be any better than mediocre since I think he sort of dumped on UT, and I don't think he will be any better from what I have seen.
Used to travel to Cal for work about 15 to 20 years ago, mostly San Diego which I liked then, a couple times to LA, didn't care that much for LA. San Fran was nice when I was there around 40 years ago, but I understand it is much worse now. Sounds like the state has gone downhill lately.

He is nowhere near ready for the NFL and playing at UCLA isn’t going to get him there. He has probably already dropped from a 1st round draft choice to a 5th or worse. My bet is his father is already looking for another school
For him to transfer to.

I lived in SoCal while in the USMC. After going to many games out there, I realized that they do not get into sports out there. Biggest attendance game I witnessed out there was the UT vs Colorado game in Anaheim.

Didn’t his dad initially say he wanted Nico surrounded by better personnel, hence the xfer to UCLA? Looks like Nico is surrounded by nothing but first round draft picks.

Pretty sizable group of Utes from sound of the broadcast so less than that were UCLA fans. I don't recall the camera ever really showing a wide shot of the stands.

And unlike every game last year, they never once showed the Iamaleava family in the stands.

Almost laughable. 35k in the Rose Bowl?!! A picture would be an embarrassment to The B1G. We have more at the O&W game.

If he and his dad/handlers wanted to transfer, fine and good luck.

The way this went down is my issue. Waiting until the end of spring practice (believing that he would have the most leverage) and then just disappearing is my issue. At least have the courage to call the coaches and say I'm leaving.
