Well, I haven't been this excited about the upcoming start of Vols Footballs, since ... well, last year.
At this point last year I was pumped about the Clawfense and I believe right before the season started Brandon Warren and Gerald Williams were cleared to play (am I remembering that correctly?).
I can recall vigorously reading VolNation as the excitement crescendoed as we awaited the UCLA game. I can even remember confidently telling my neighbor (a UK fan) that we would put an absolute stomp down on UCLA.
I think we are all a little older and wiser after going through that 08 season, but despite my attempts at tempered realism, my excitement is growing again.
So, long story short - over the last month it has been interesting to read all the play by play twitters and posts about practices and scrimmage and I think it provides a decent gauge of where we are as a team.
Did this exist last year? Did any of y'all make it to practices and such, other than the O&W game?
If we weren't basing our optimism on first hand accounts, what were we basing it on - coach speak and spin from Fulmer and Clawson? Unfounded Internet speculation?
Just curious if any did make it to see the Vols pre season last year and could make a comparison.
