Last year Clawson came in with a complicated offense that was never fully grasped by the players. This year Monte comes in with a very complex defense. Are we going to see a repeat?

i dont think so.. even the most complex defensive schemes are simpler than clawson's O. Plus we have a rep of getting very good defensive minds.

No. Clawson's Offense worked in D1-AA. Monte's defense worked in the NFL. There's a big difference.

the beauty of the tampa 2 is its simplicity...deep safeties fast linebackers pressure up front, and i guarantee no-one can teach it better than monte. comparing monte kiffin to clawson is ridiculous

HAHAHAHAHA...This thread is the funniest thing I've seen all day. Yeah I'm sure the greatest Defensive mind in recent football memory will fail like Clawson. I'm sure he wouldn't be able to make adjustments.

Monte will certainly be similar to Clawson in one respect: his presence will limit the amount of points being put on the board.

Neither the Cover 2 Defense nor the Tampa 2 Defense are complex.

If the D were that complicated and didn't allow for reaction and instinct, it never would have worked at any level. It just can't be that complicated.
