Anyone think BJ Coleman transfers to Duke/Cutclife?

Would make sense cause he was Cuts boy and he obviously is not getting any love from the morons currently running this program into the ground. After the season I mean.

I heard this on Sporttalk in Chattanooga, too. Why would anyone care? Maybe because Cutcliffe hand picked this kid? I think we all can agree on Cutcliffe evaluating QB's.

I guess if you don't care then you are content with the Unibrow throwing the ball 16 rows into the stands. Makes perfect sense.

I care only because Cutcliffe seemed to like Colemen, from what I understand it was Fulmer that wasn't on board and wanted to groom Crompton.

I was really hopeful about Coleman, particularly since Cut was so high on him. However, it concerns me that Coleman cannot beat out Crompton. I am still hopeful that Coleman will improve this year and be in the mix next year. From all accounts from those in Chatt, he's a great kid so I'd like to see him do well.

Coach Cut hit the nail on the head in his evaluation of Crompton and he was very high on BJ Coleman.

Cut looks smarter by the day!!!!

It's all Fulmer. I don't blame Clawson for this at all. He is between a rock and a hard place if you ask me. Fulmer has probably forced him to go with and stay with Crompton up to this point. I'm sure it is hard to run an offense properly when you are forced to use a bad QB and only run about 25% of your offense because he can't catch on.
I think Stephens is a little ahead of Coleman, but I bet they are both ahead of Crompton. Maybe if Stephens plays well and secures the QB spot, Crompton will leave and Coleman will be elevated to #2. At that point you are only a play away from being the starter. Injuries happen all the time. I would prefer he didn't leave. I am also pulling for Stephens. I have been very impressed with his interviews over the last couple days. He seems very humble.

If he tranferred to Duke than he wouldn't be allowed to play until his JR year. Unless he transferred right now and he wouldn't be able to play until some point in his Soph year.

Coleman is a very good QB. The issue with him is footwork, as he worked almost exclusively out of the shotgun at McCallie. He can scramble, has a good arm, and has a huge upside. He needs to take the 2nd string snaps. Crompton has had his chance, and been a miserable failure, period.

We have no proven QB and he is as talented as Stephens and prolly nore so than Crompton. If you dont think we need all the QBs we can get you are obviously a mouth breather.

And if you think that BJ cannot 'become' the answer in the next season or two then you obviously arent thinking too clearly. We have no idea. We know he is talented and still young and raw. He at least has potential to 'become' the answer one day, whether it happens or not we dont know. Alot of fans thought for sure that a highly rated QB, Mr. Crompton, was going to be the answer. So to claim forsight in this matter is a little faulty.

I don't think Clawson's bailed on BJ, he's just the youngest.

Q: Where is B.J. Coleman in this mix?

This shouldn't be a discussion. Crompton should be benched. Nick and BJ should both be given chances to play to see who is better. The bottom line is I doubt either back up quarter back is as bad as Jonathan Crompton. Crompton is terrible and what is scary is that he is getting worse every game! 8-25 with 67 yards and a bad handoff. 50 % of highschool quarterbacks could do better than that. Also, I wouldnt even worry about Nick and BJ knowing the offense. Crompton doesn't know it. Every three plays there is a "mix-up" or "QB and receiver arent on the same page" or "Crompton missed the signal." I doubt the back-ups could do much worse.

it's very strange to me that the guy who played the best in the Spring game is not even in the mix for the "open" QB competition. One rumour I've read is that Coleman somehow wound up on the hfc's backlist and he will not ever get a shot while Fulmer is there.

Coleman was not the best in the spring game. He looked like crap.
