Really? If Phil put Hamilton there, I don't think he expected him to get such great pub on the Pearl hire. I still think AD is the job that Fulmer would want if he were not coaching.

Didn't Hamilton say something "less than supportive" last fall only to get chastised?

That seems to suggest he'd be tougher if he were allowed to.

But let's be realistic... that won't be his choice. It will be much higher than him.

If the season explodes further and Fulmer is gone, Hamilton will follow him for inking him to that big contract extension. Having to fire you coach the next year after an extension always gets the GM fired in the Pros. It shouldn't be any different here regardless of the Pearl hire.

I believe that was simply a decision by the former president, who said it was a step in cleaning up college sports. He has now moved on to Ohio State but has yet to drop their athletic department. Odd, isn't it?
