You mean the Reveiz brothers? Even those guys had some crappy seasons. Fuad was 7/15 his Freshman year and 17/26 his Jr year. Carlos was 10/19 his Sr year……”Volzheimers”?

Give us one that meets your criteria, Tenacjim
I’m just posting stats.

I loved Townsend (I used to kick in the backyard barefoot). I loved the Reveiz brothers. Fuad is my favorite kicker of all time. But he was on some crappy teams. The only kick I remember George Hunt making was the Liberty Bowl against Arkansas.

Most of our best teams the kicker didn’t really matter. Jeff Hall made at least one memorable kick. We lose 2 games in 1998 if he misses kicks maybe. But he was pretty bad (43/64) 1995-1997. But the teams were so good, it didn’t really matter.

Just illustrating sometimes “memory” doesn’t match “reality” with our past great kickers while everyone is piling on our current one.

......and went to a frat house and pulled a guy out to do the kicking? He wasn't even a member of the team and did great. Was that under Majors? You can't tell me there aren't ten guys on that campus that could do better than what we have.
I’d sell my soul for a James Wilhoite

All true. So are the stats.

I was responding to a post that said they were “automatic”. 47%, 53% and 65% for the season is far from “automatic”.

Thank the Lord above Ohio State has a worse kicker than we do. Back to back losses one of which could easily be laid at his feet. I guarantee that young man won’t be on campus come spring.
