Does anyone remember the discussion on the sports animal radio about a week or two ago when the guys were comparing this florida game to the game in 1998? They ended up saying that it wasn't as significant, but that it would be just as sweet. I remember the ending question and its answer most of all:

Q: "So, what will the reaction to a win over florida this season be?"

A: "Oh, they'll storm the field."

After five years of losing to UF? Yeah, they'll storm the field.

Wonder if we have sunk far enough where the goal posts will come down after we beat the gators this Saturday?

That kind of goes along with my thoughts. While storming the field is cool as hel in big games. It's sad that we have sunk down so low that if we do beat a team we play every year the field will be stormed.

If it is a 4th-quarter come from behind victory for the Vols, there may not be enough fans still in the stadium to storm the field.

Not that its going to happen anytime soon, but I always wondered what kind of shananigans would go down if Kentucky ever ended the streak in Lexington. I think their stadium would be in ashes by the time it is all over and the smoke clears.

They would break into the library in Lexington and burn the book.

LOL we dont have the team for 4th quarter come from behind victories, if we're down in the 4th, it will be tough for us to win

Poor UK football fans, we've heard the same slogan from them for 2 decades: "This is the year!"

Agree, see their premature reaction to "beating" LSU.

Its funny y'all talking about fan bases tearing down the goal posts! I live near clemson and they finally put up these automatic lowing goal post that come down after every game, due to the excessive amount of destruction to the goal posts! Every year it seemed like they were tearing them down atleast once!

If we do win, I'd say they will at least try to storm the field, and I can't say I would blame them. Heck, I might even join them. CDD would get a nice gatorade bath too, which would be neat to see. I don't see anything wrong with this considering what this team has been through the past 3 years.

What is the punishment getting caught storming the field? When the crowd storms the field I'd say at least as many get arrested as there are cops, so what are you charged with? Trespassing?

Yea probably. And then drunk in public if you have been drinking.

I think there is about 12,000 student tickets (give or take a few thousand.) At max there is 100 cops guarding the field. I bet on the students.

Your odds off getting arrested are at best 1%, but I bet they would just give up once the first 3000 come pouring down.

Look, storming the field would be a release of frustration and a celebration of finally winning a game we shouldn't have won. When is the last time we won a game we weren't supposed to win? I swear I can't remember.

While I certainly wouldn't consider beating UF this year "storming the field" worthy, I also wouldn't blame them. Hell, some grad students and sixth year seniors haven't witnessed a win over UF! That's f-n ridiculous.
