Anyone headed down to Athens? Just a couple things, they were/are working on 285 east and west bound for at least 3 more months. Might be easier to go 75 to 85 then 316. As always in ATL traffic, it’s hit or miss but wanted to give a heads up. 285/400 I think they are working at night, surely no work on Saturday. Suuuuurely….

Wish everyone a safe and fun trip, watch out for cops Saturday, will be out in force trying to grab speeders.

^What he said ^. There is a persistent presence of radar on 316, from State Patrol to city cops (I'm looking at you, Statham).

If you're up for taking your time coming from the Knoxville area, try hopping off I-75 at the Sweetwater exit and taking TN-68 down through Tellico Plains and Coker Creek, and link up with US-74 (take the cutoff through NC, and you'll save some minutes). Hang a right on US-19 toward Blairsville, GA and onward towards Cleveland, GA. From there you can either take US-129 down through Gainesville or hop over to US-441 around Baldwin/Cornelia. It's a straight shot in to Athens from there, and a lot more pleasant drive than 75/285/316.

Hope you enjoy!

Thanks. I have always had a great time in Athens. I have found for the most part if you act respectful to other fans they will treat you with respect as well. Of course there's always the few drunk jerks but you just have to ignore them. I absolutely plan on having a large time

Have an old military buddy who works for the other team. Secured our tickets for us with other Vol faithful.
Oh, ok. That’s great.
Have a great time.
I was in Sanford in 2016, I sat on the very top row in the Visitors section. We all went insane when Jennings made the end zone catch. We were all falling all over each other and hugging and high fiving anybody in Orange.
And we all filed out of the Stadium singing “it’s great to be a Tennessee Vol”.
Greatest away game I’ve ever been to.

My wife and I are going. We were invited to this game over a year ago by some Dawg friends. Of course, there was no thought at the time that we would be an actual threat. We will clearly stick out in Sec 130 row 17 behind the UGA bench. So if I don’t make it out of there it was nice knowing you guys! 🍊

This was my route in '16, and it was one of the best days of my life.

I know what you mean! I was there in Sanford & Sons Memorial Stadium and Livestock Exposition Center in '16 as well.

That's basically my return route from our home games in Knoxville. Sometimes I mix it up and take 411 instead of 75. Nothing like the TN countryside with the Smokies as a backdrop.

Or for anyine coming south a little farther or from 24, Get off Dalton exit, head to Ellijay, down to Gainesville and into Athens. About 10-15 minutes longer if the interstate is clean, how often does that happen? Much more scenic route, no traffic worries.
