Reason I ask is because I don’t. I’ve just found over the years its best I start my day with comedy or music and leave the sports stuff to later in the day. In the afternoons I start listening to 104.5 at 3:00 but that’s only because I cant pick up AM and Thom Abrham tends to get on my nerves.

Its been about 5 weeks now since the start of the cfb season and with the change of the Vols middle Tn radio stations. You’d think that 104.5 would do something like talk about UT or have segments about them every day but Plasters show from at least 3-4:30 has rarely anything. Maybe a 5 minute quip from somebody but that’s it. Last week before the LSU game, they thought it was more important to have “Tomahawk Week” than to even mention the Vols. Pretty p__ poor for a member of the Vol network.

So I looked up the announcement from UT sports

Vol Network Begins Partnership with Nashville's 104.5 The Zone University of Tennessee Athletics

The Zone will air every University of Tennessee football game, every men's basketball game, Vol Calls, daily updates from University of Tennessee play-by-play voice Bob Kesling, and other weekly Vol Network programming beginning in August.

Question I have is does Bob K call into the morning show or mid day show everyday for updates? Because so far I haven’t heard him once in the afternoon nor has Plaster ever mentioned him coming on in the upcoming hours. But by gosh we know that the idiot John McClain is coming up or Nick to talk baseball. Before I fire off an email to Host Communications and UT Sports I wanted to see if we’re getting anything in those shows cause we’re not getting cr_p in the afternoon.

I listen to 104.5 in the morning and rarely in the afternoon. They typically have Hubbs and Lowe on different days in the morning. I don't remember kesling though now that you mention it. They probably have more UT stuff on the 3 hour lunch than they do on the afternoon....Hope that helps.

I listen to 104.5 all day long. I start with Frank,Mark and Kevin. Then on to D Patrick (big upgrade over Rome) and then the 3 hour lunch and a finish off the day with George and Willie. They do UT on Mondays and Fridays in the afternoon. They do mulitple segments about College Football and other segments where you can call in and talk about whatever you want sports related. Overall...its a great sports station. I still stream the sports animal from Ktown every once and while.

3 hour lunch is my favorite show. period.

I like the show. I know that Clay Travis is their to stir the pot. But he is horrible. Easiest way to compare him is this.....He is the Mark Howard of the 3 Hour Lunch.

I would only knock the afternoon show on Vol coverage. The other 2 shows provide more than adequate coverage.
It is nashville and not knoxville they have 2 pro teams, MTSU, Vandy, TSU, UT, and you can add belmont and Lipscomb when it comes to CBB. The afternoon covers all of them and on knoxville radio they hardly cover the titans at all so you could flip the argument. Having said all that I cant stand Plaster (40 year old virgin)

If you want Vol friendly radio the afternoon show does it best. They have Clay Travis, Blaine Bishop who usually speaks highly of UT, and alum brent D.
Mark Howard in the morning is usually pro vol too

As hard as they might act like they try sometimes, most of them are still Vandy guys at heart. I have heard a lot of negative, and very little positive, about Tennessee over the last year on this station. Granted, there has been a lot of negative to report, but there is bound to be something positive they could say now and then.

Ive heard mostly the truth. 104.5 is the Dooley of the TN sports stations. With that said, the 3 hour lunch spends the most time on UT considering they have clay and Brent.

Doug Matthews is a vandy fan? LOL fooled me. Anyway, DP in the morning is good. He's always got good guest on. 3Hr lunch is good, they are wild, and they let me call in! LOL

They actually play Bob Kessling between 6:58-7:02 central time every weekday morning. It's a pre-taped segment that is distributed to the entire Vol Network everyday.

I agree. My big knock is that per the ut sports dept, we were supposed to get a daily update from UT about what's going on and I dont hear it. I'm having to listen to Plaster and his Vandy love fest along with MBA talk. Then baseball (come on guys, its football seaons) or Predators. I would expect this from most sports talk stations. I dont expect it from the home of the Vols in middle Tennessee. You'd think if they wanted to make sure people listened to their station you'd promote it thru the week.

They promote the station with commercials, duh! LOL. Yeh, no scheduled update, but if its newsUT, they talk about it.

They have no problem with Listeners. Having UT on Saturdays is all they need to keep UT fans. This is why the 104.5 staff made a big deal about Vandy not wanting to renew their contract. It blew my mind as well.

I don't see how anyone can listen to George Plaster. Nashville is in serious need of another sports talk station.

And another thing, who the hell has a "car phone" nowadays? "Next, we have Jeff on a car phone. Give me 2 minutes if you can."

thom Abraham sure aint the answer either. Wish they'd switch King back to drive time. Much more tolerable than TA or Plaster.

Not sure the logic with putting TA a Bama guy on for drive home radio in mid tn.

Plaster spends way tooooo much time on baseball and knows very little about football and is soso on basketball.

for example last week he was talking about how good bama was, no problem with that. Then he went on a rant about how in the past 2 seasons no one has come close to beating them. He went on and on about it.
Finally someone called in and reminded the nashville flagship for UT fball took them to the wire just last year.

I get tired of the cheap shots that King and Biddle like to take against UT. If you try to take down Biddle's buddy Spurrier on that show, you can almost get him to cry.

The Wake-Up Zone can get hilarious in the mornings with the Wycheck impersonations. He does a great John McClain, Jay Cutler, and David Beckham. Kevin Ingram does a spot on impersonation of Plaster.
