Anyone know why Bray...

It probably has something to do with the fact that he doesn't know what he is doing yet. Bray needs to get his head in the game if he wants opportunity.

I was hoping he'd at least get a couple of series. The only thing reason I can think of is wanting Simms to have as much live action as possible going into the Florida game. What Lex said is probably true also.

Im guessing that Dooley, with his legal background, didn't want to be brought up on attempted murder charges.

It would have really sucked if Simms had been injured when they left him in....I've seen it happen too many times. Know when to pull the starters. Get the backup some EXP.

It's just an indicator that Bray may be slightly worse than UT Chattanooga's QB at this piont.

Well from what I've seen and read about practices and O&W game Bray is just as good as Simms maybe even better but I guess when you're 18 people get nervous about putting you in a game.

It could be that... and what's the hurry? Give the kid time to play under better circumstances.

That would be next season or the end of this year.

Although it is likely that Bray will see the field, it leaves the option to red-shirt open, too.

He played in the UT-Martin game so I don't think he can be red-shirted now. I might be wrong though about how the process works.

Do you guys really think Simms will improve enough by next year to help us actually win something? I sure don't.

We can all admit this is a rebuilding year, I wish we would take our punishment with Bray in the game so he will have more time with our Freshman receivers and line. BRAY is our future QB, not Simms.

Remember how everybody said Garrett Gilbert getting his butt kicked, and almost bringing them back, last year will help him in the long run? It's the same with Bray in my opinion...

Precisely. I don't think they can afford to not have Simms in a game getting reps.

Which was why I was surprised they pulled him in the third against UTM. I wanted to see a sustained, clock killing drive.

I don't know if it would have changed the outcome, but a couple of third down pickups might have changed Saturday night in a big way.

Yep, Dooley felt the team quit after the pick-six. Not a good environment to put Bray in the game.

I think he wanted the boys to get the bitter pill in full. Make them stay out there and take it.

His post-game comments were great, actually. "You've got to love to compete...." "You can't let the scoreboard affect how you compete on every down...."

He says all the right things, and they competed for 2.5 quarters. But it did fall apart as soon as things went wrong.

At the UT Martin game he looked terrible. He has a long way to go. Simms is best option right now.

Terrible? If he was terrible I would love to hear your opinion on Simms. All but like 1 of his throws where way off, our receivers just made plays on the catches we had.

The thing I liked the most is who his first 2 passes, also completions, went too. Stocker is one of the best, if not the best offensive option we have and Bray not Simms got him involved.

Completely agree, but I'm afraid of Bray getting hurt.

He can still be red-shirted.

Negative, he cannot still be redshirted. The only possible way he could now would be to somehow have a medical issue and get approved for a medical redshirt. The people who say you have to play a certain percentage of snaps...blah blah blah... are wrong and don't understand the rules of redshirting.
