Anyone know the team rushing record in a single game?

How is this even possible??
Poor Cumberland never stood a chance. Their QB got carted off the field 3 separate times with concussions, committed 15 turnovers and 97% of the game’s plays occurred in Cumberland’s territory.

"Cumberland's greatest individual play of the game occurred when fullback Allen circled right end for a 6-yard loss."At halftime, Heisman reportedly told his players, "You're doing all right, team, we're ahead. But you just can't tell what those Cumberland players have up their sleeves. They may spring a surprise. Be alert, men! Hit 'em clean, but hit 'em hard!"However, even Heisman relented, and shortened the third and fourth quarters from 15 minutes to 12.

Last year we scored 215 points through 10 games. This year we have scored 204 through 5 games.

Last year we played exclusively SEC defenses. This year we've played 2 SEC defenses, Pitt, and 2 scrubs. To put this in perspective, through 2 SEC games last year we scored 66. This year we've scored 76. Still nice, but not nearly as dramatic.

Back in the day, you only left the game for good if three buckets of water to the face didn’t wake you up.

Backstory goes something like: Cumberland destroyed GTech 20-0 the previous year in baseball so Heisman (who was also the baseball coach) decided to teach them a lesson. There's a good article on it somewhere, talks about some of the players getting the ball and running backwards for fear of the GT players. I'm not sure there was a single positive yard by Cumberland. It was not a game. Cumberland literally cancelled football the previous year. It was Heisman being a petty, vindictive little b**** because he thought Cumberland used pros in the baseball game.

That is amazing. I’m not sure how I had never heard about this before.

In 2016 against Missouri they had 386 yards. Have they had more in conference since then until Sat?

Not a TN record but in 1916 Georgia Tech ran for 922 yards and 32 tds. I kinda doubt anyone beats that 😂
That was against Cumberland College of Lebanon, TN. The CC team had many of their players get on the wrong train and they used regular students. Lost 222-0.
