Anyone here first name Michael?

I don't collect footballs, but I have a painting that looks very old. The name scrawled in the bottom corner looks similar to Michael, but it's a little hard to make out - Michel...something. Angelo maybe? Don't know if it's worth anything or if I should just throw it out.

Want a Peyton Manning signed football?

If Peyton didn't sign the ball in front of you, it's a fake. I've had over 20 pieces he's signed & have never seen his signature like that. I'm not the only one either.
that one is real -- OPs looks fake
That’s why I posted it for comparison. Looks fishy but who knows maybe he was still practicing his autograph??
It’s nothing like autographs I’ve seen.

I have a couple of employees named Michael. None of them have anything signed by Peyton. Hope that helps.

No idea whether this is fake or not, but sigs can and often do change over time. I used to draw quite a bit and always signed my work. Although my sig hasn't changed much at all over the last few decades, looking back, it changed significantly from when I was a teen until my late 20s. This was most likely due to laziness on my part and demands on my time as a teen compared to an adult with many more responsibilities...

I'm quite sure the demands on Peyton's time changed significantly from his sophomore year at UT and his pro career at Indy.

I can't believe I rattled on so much about this... 🤪

That autograph is an absolutely pathetic. I don't think it is a "fake" because the creator obviously was not attempting to imitate the penmanship of PM's true autograph. If anyone has ever heard of something called Google, its pretty easy to find legitimate PM autographed items. I found it interesting that all of the certified autographs all look strikingly familiar to one another. To save time, just pan up to the jersey a few posts before this one. That is what the certified ones look like.

In all seriousness, the guy had probably signed 100,000 autographs by the time he got to your helmet and realized he needed to tighten that **** up!

Manning no longer had time for things like vowels! :)

An autograph expert on antiques roadshow said about 90% of all autographs he sees are forgeries.

If you really want to sell that football and believe that it's an authentic signature, it would be worth the investment to get a COA through a reputable vendor. It would really verify the signature and increase interest. Unfortunately, I tend to agree with many replies here. It doesn't look authentic enough to take a risk on the purchase.
