Anyone here can tell me the latest on Lamaison?

Running a distant third team, which is what was expected. Mike Rozier quit the team a little over a week ago, Im sure in part due to Lamaison securing the third spot ahead of him. Rozier had a D1 scolly several years ago at NC but elected to go the pro baseball route. He had been with the team all summer, and quit midway through two a days last week. Starting job is still a battle between Stephens and Crompton with Crompton holding a slight edge (judging by snaps with the first team)
Lamaison got in the last scrimmage late and threw a pick 6 to Rod Wilks who may be the best third team safety in the conference. Seems Nick is still adjusting to the speed of the game. I look for him to redshirt unless something happens to one of the guys ahead of him.

PS Kiffin had good things to say about Nick on a CSS Talkin Sports segment that I saw today---which was taped awhile back. Lane said they wished they coulda had Nick earlier in the summer as that put him behind, but he had to take an extra class to be admitted to UT and went on to say that he obviously had talent as the numbers he put up last year attest.

Probably going to red shirt I imagine. He hasn't seemed to grasp this offense yet which is understandable considering he just started practicing.

I know this is a Nick Lamaison thread, but I've been wondering about Aaron Douglas..

Aaron Douglas is pushing for the starting right tackle job. Trails slightly Shaw, but not by much. Aaron will play alot of football for us this year, and beyond.
I look for him to catch a pass or two this year as well....;)

Thanks. He's one of those kids I find myself rooting for.

Thanks for the update. Rod Wilks can pick 6 on command.

I knew that was coming!

Seriously, while the kid has been an urban legend on here, he does have a knack for making plays. He's had at least two pick 6's in the preseason "games".

The only reason Rod Wilks isn't starting is because he's so great that it wouldn't be fair to the other teams...NCAA ruling to keep the games closer.

Was Douglas getting burnt by Williams at the last scrimmage or was that someone else. I can't remember.

The NCAA just announced that they will allow Wilks to start provided he ties his shoelaces together and has one arm tied behind his back in order to make things fair.

Good news:

Bruce Irvin showed up to practice during walk-throughs... draping a Tennessee Volunteer t-shirt on....

Thanks for the Lamaison report.
