Dam. In Nashville that's a ticket and a court date. You aren't actually going to get arrested and hualed in to jail for that. It would appear that NIL money outta be good enough to pay your old tickets, and it would also seem that he's not even old enough to have old, unpaid tickets.... yikes

In Knoxville, any Tennessee athlete is subject to arrest for entering their car too quickly.Knoxville city police are the scrappings from the bottom of a garbage man's shoe.
You may be right. I don't know. I don't live there anymore.

I do know that, at least where I am, failure to pay a traffic fine or appear to answer the charge automatically results in an "FTA" (Failure to Appear) DL suspension...and a bench warrant. Maybe Tennessee is different. But if not, Blount County clearly knew where he was. Why not reach out to UT to clean it up before it got out of hand (i.e. - a media story)?

Rumor has it that Knoxville is a "blue city in a red county". Any truth to that? If so, could be a source of friction between departments. And the locals always seem to pay for that type of thing.

Anyhow...he's young and did something stupid. I certainly can't throw the first stone here. If memory serves, 60 is a bit fast for that bridge, but I seriously doubt if he was the first to do it...that day. Wrong place, wrong time, wrong thing to do. Again, I can't throw the stone here.

I do know from experience that athletes...especially SEC caliber athletes...tend to have a certain air of entitlement. So maybe this was a needed lesson in civic responsibility. In any event, not really worth the 6 o'clock news, IMO. Happens multiple times every day, in every jurisdiction.

The traffic offense part can be settled in court and through payment of appropriate fines. His DL might get some time on the sideline, and his insurance agent is looking at a new fishing boat about now, but I just can't get excited about this.

And I'm sure a bit of extra conditioning work and some community involvement will clean up any debt he owes to the team, or staff.

He may or may not contribute to the team this year. His numbers don't pop off the screen at me. But that's not what this is all about, is it?

Live and learn. Try to not make the same mistake twice.

Exactly. This is on Brazzell not the officer doing his job. Athlete or no, personal responsibility is personal responsibility.

Not to defend the Knoxville PD-but Georgia fans say this about the Athens police every time one of their players gets arrested, and they rightly get made fun for it. So uh, how about we not be as stupid as them and not say stuff like this lol

Kirby and his “fixer” would’ve squashed this in 5 minutes and probably put a chip and a moonshiner switch on the player’s car.
Better make sure all the players keep their cars clean.
Run him at practice and be done with it

And that's why these dum arse players continue to be dum arses. They're never held accountable. Actually, it's true of society today.

LSU and Auburn both had players arrested this weekend. On a related note, what happened to the Vandy players arrested over the rape charges a few years back? And, anyone have knowledge of AJ Johnson these days. His incident likely cost him a decent shot at an NFL career. Sad...

Not sure about the Vandy players, but AJ started going by Alexander Johnson and played a few years for the Broncos before a season ending injury that he never came back from. I think he played 5 or 6 yrs in the league.

I don't think speeding tickets/expired license is serious enough for him to get in any serious trouble. Anyone could do that. He will need someone to carpool him.
