its a rumor that's making the rounds. I actually met the guy recently and he seems like a really good guy. I cant think of anyone that could be successful following John Ward.

I don't think anyone expected him to equal John Ward, they just expect score updates every now and then.

We'll never have another Ward, so we should get someone who has their unique character. I like the way Bert gets pumped and his voice, accent, and opinions are a great representation of the fan base. Could he be the lead guy?

Two Words- Mike Keith!! pay him what ever he wants. he can do sat in BO country and then go back to the titans sunday!!

I've heard the rumor, I wish it was true, but it's not. Kessling is here for the foreseeable future.

Not gonna happen, they had their shot with him and took Kesling. It would be hard for MK to do the Derek Dooley Show on Sundays and get back in time for the Titans game.

I have no idea how much Mike Keith is paid, but I'd imagine he's happy where he's at right now. Still, I really enjoy his broadcasts. That dude gets excited!

Am I the only one that actually likes BK. But I dont listen to the radio broadcasts though so I guess my opinion is biased. I never listened to the game audio when JW was on. I turned the tv down and the radio up. I think Mike Keith would be awesome in Big Orange Country though.

Kesling did have the distinct disadvantage of following John Ward, who was the master, so to speak. That said, Kesling hasn't really improved over the years and is pretty pedestrian as a broadcaster, but we are probably stuck with him for the next few years, unless he might want "early retirement."

I also like Bob Kesling. I really don't have a gripe with him except that he doesn't really paint a picture while he announces like JW did. That is probably due to his announcing for TV broadcasts for a large portion of his career. It's hard for a TV guy to switch to radio. Same basic job, but the details are completely different.

Even with Kesling's shortcomings, he's still better than half of the announcers in the SEC.

John Ward simply spoiled the Big Orange Nation.

the difference in money between a college play by play man and a pro is worlds apart. it would probably be compared to what a college coach makes and a pro coach makes, so we can forget about getting mike keith. i really don't mind bob, but like all play by play men he does make mistakes on air, it just most of them correct them then, whereas he doesn't. if we could get mike keith that would be great but it would take a LOT more money !!! :no:
