Urban Meyer–Color Me Gone!

By: Thomas R. Smyth—August 14th, 2010—4:15 PM

New York-Rumors are running rampant that University of Florida Gators Head Football Coach Urban Meyer has been in highly secretive meetings with Gator school President Bernie Machen and Athletic Director Jeremy Foley in recent days discussing his immediate departure from the Gators program…again!

After the University of Alabama battered the Gators in the SEC Championship game Meyer on December 26th, 2009 abruptly resigned citing physical health problems, while many believed those problems were really mental health issues. At the time his daughter Nicki, 18, hugged him and said, “I get my daddy back.” He then stunningly turned around offering a plethora of disturbing reasons for his dubious actions and decided to rejoin the team.

It is believed that Machen and Foley are trying to convince Meyer to stay onboard through the October 16th Mississippi State game, which is followed by a two week bye, that will allow the new head coach to take the reins who is believed to be Gator Offensive Coordinator Steve Addazio, a lightly regarded replacement.

Florida has had numerous legal problems with 28 players arrested and the recently announced wide ranging NCAA investigation into the Gator football program. It is that very investigation that has those in the know believing that is the reason for Meyer’s decision to leave the program.

We will be updating this story when warranted.

COLLEGE ROUND-UP

By: Grant Herndon

8/14/10

Nashville API-An interesting story is making the rounds that has Urban Meyer resigning his position as head football coach of the Florida Gators in the coming days.

As you will remember Meyer last resigned almost immediately after the Gators lost to Alabama in the SEC championship game citing health reasons. At this stage no one outside of the Gator hierarchy truly knows what the story is, but this could be a case where there’s smoke, there’s fire.

The Gator football program is embroiled in a nasty NCAA investigation that appears to be gaining steam, which is not good news for Gator Nation.

Meyer whose ongoing erratic behavior raised eyebrows again when most recently he verbally attacked Orlando Sentinel sportswriter, Jeremy Fowler and then appeared to threaten him physically.

The Gators have been roundly criticized for their close to three dozen arrests and lackadaisical application of discipline in all of these matters, which coupled with the NCAA investigation, may be influencing Meyer’s thinking about finding greener pastures.

Our team is working this story hoping to get verification and to also clarify this situation in the coming hours. Stay tuned!

Must be true. It be on the internets.

True, and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone within the USC football community who would tell an outright lie about anything having to do with the University of Florida.

Clearly Meyer is stepping down...hell he may have already done so.

This is Internet trash, but nothing that Meyer does will surprise me. Dude is a pubescent chick mentally.

Don't believe it, but also don't think it's all that far-fetched.

Menopause can be a nightmare for anyone, especially a head coach in the SEC. And based on his recent actions, it's clear that Urban's battling the symptoms of this inevitable transition in his life. The irregular heartbeat, the irritability, the anxiety, the vaginal dryness. It's a textbook case.

We've seen one rash resignation from him already. It'd be no surprise to see another. And in his condition, who could blame him?
