He sounded almost "giddy". He was telling stories of the old days and laughing it up. I'm not implying anything (or am I?), just an observation.

Anyone hear it?

I missed that, but would have loved to have heard it.

i heard it. From the 10-15 minutes I was in my car during that piece, he didn't make any direct stabs at Fulmer or the current coaching staff.

During the piece that I heard, it was a pretty innocent deal.

Of course, I thought they were buttering him up for the "BIG QUESTION" at the end of the segment but I had already parked and gone back into work by that point.

I don't think he said anything out of line or took any shots at anyone, but would you say he was in a better mood than normal?

The only thing they asked him about was what he thought of Gruden and majors said he was not helping the University find a coach and that he was just going to answer the question about Gruden and that was it . He sounded like he wanted to stay as far away from the Fulmer topic as possible.

I'm not sure Johnny Majors has "moods", but he certainly hasn't been leaning towards remorse/disappointment this week.

I don't know if you heard it or not, but he actually said Gruden was in the top 1% of coaches that he ever coached with -- and he coached with some good ones.

Johnny and phil in a cage match to settle it. Johnny will hit phil over the head with a empty whiskey bottle and get the three count.

Seriously though. Johnny had a tone to his voice that hasn't been there in awhile. He has truely been very bitter over the years. I had a friend that valea parked cars for ruth chris in nashville. He meet johnny once and asked him why he didn't return to campus much. He replied that he wouldn't come back until that judas brutus was gone.

Someone needs to find the pic of Majors walking into Neyland smiling with a bag half over his head.

Gruden had better be the first choice for UT. He would be a great fit, that is for sure.

The funniest part of the interview was when he was naming all of his assistants that had good coaching careers. He named everyone from Jimmy Johnson to Walt Harris. He left out one name though....

Bitter til the end. That crabby SOB! I love it.

That's funny. My uncle ran into him at the airport, they talked for a few minutes. My uncle said he was a big fan of his and hated how he lost his job. Majors immediately called Fulmer a judas brutus. I guess he's been using that phrase for a while.
