Anyone have an idea where Pruitt learned this payoff scheme from?

Think about this logically people. It’s not that hard. It all points to the man. If he wasn’t complicit with it all( which I believe he was) he turned a blind eye to it which is just as bad.

Inquiring minds want to know 🤷🏻

Love to know if this one question was ever asked by the infractions folks. My guess is it wasn’t touched with a 10 foot pole.
Pruitt didn't get fired for paying players. He got fired for absolute stupidity. Every successful team in the country pays players and everyone knows it...including the NCAA. He and that bonehead Niedermeyer were not only doing it in a blatantly obvious way, they were advertising the fact they were doing it. It was reckless and stupid. The bad part about it was that even advertising it, they were still not very good at it and even worse at coaching. No sympathy at all for either one.

Story perfectly illustrates Kiffin and Pruitt in their characters as well. 😂
At least Kiffin was smart enough to figure out not only which house McCarron lived in , but also where his bedroom window was . Pruitt sounds like the idiot cop from a buddy/cop movie staking out the wrong place.

Lance Thompson was very familiar with the area.

The rumor is and has been Bear Bryant's son has an association with a major bank in that state. The story goes any money deals had no association whatsoever with the University, formal boosters, just zero paper trails to the school. The Bank has no responsibility as a private entity to open it's books or answer any inquiries from the NCAA even if they were ever made. It was NIL before there was NIL, what deal the bank made between a player and itself was their business. The school and staff actually knew nothing about it other than noticing somebody got a new Dodge Charger when they showed up for practice.

Banks aren’t typically in the business of just giving away money. They paid players no doubt, but I doubt banks were funding everything.
