Anyone have a down the line video of the onside kick?

I watched about 10 down the line replays on a 300 foot HD screen in the stadium and there was no way to overturn based on replay. It was within an inch or two either way and there was no way to determine exactly when the touch occurred.

. No one knew it was coming either which made it even better.
If you were there live and saw the way Indiana had their front line set up, I think you might have smelled it coming. There were 4 guys up front. 3 were spaced about 8-10 yards apart then for some reason they had the 4th guy spaced at about 15-20 yards. They might as well have put up a sign that said “kick it here”.

The on-side kick has fundamentally changed since the rules were updated for safety. That was probably the nicest one I've seen since - you almost have to do it as a surprise now.

For the record, this is the best 'old school' on-side kick I've ever seen:
Bittersweet memory, since the ensuing Andy Kelly interception made a much younger me cry for maybe the only time over a football game.

I did not expect it at all. Did not really pay attention to the way IU was set up though.

Pretty sure Gray's feet were at the 10-yard mark and he was leaning forward.

Your IU friend needs to stop being a little bitch. I lost a lot of respect for that school after the way their fans acted last night.

I was there and am now in Daytona...our interactions with IU fans before, during and post game have been 100% positive.

Their internet fans are pobably no worse than ours..

I'm sorry, but the dumb IU chant while we had an injured player shows that at least most of them are classless.

Same exact onside play Fla. State pulled on us in 98.They pulled it off but someone touched the ball prior to going 10 yds.

An IU friend of mine is trying to say it didn't go 10. It obviously did.
He’s an idiot. Most of Gray’s body was beyond 10 yards and he clearly caught the ball in front of him. I made the comment last night that when the official reviewed it and only said “the play stands” that it was BS. It clearly should’ve been confirmed.

If your friend is honestly saying that wasn’t a clearly recovery, he’s a biased idiot. No offense.

Doesnt matter where the player is. Just the ball. Not sure on the rule about how much of the ball has to go 10 yards. But I thought the whole thing made it across.

The best loss I every witness. What a game, what a roster on both sides of the ball for both teams. The ball got that nice bounce off the turf.
It hurt but the Vols got payback the next year. The look on Holt's face at the post game hand shake in 91 was priceless. Btw check out the fully checked end zones at the end of the video.
