Looks like a few are going to Lefty's friday nights...looks close to our hotel (marriott on 4th/Market)..so we will make it over there. I only hoped onto this board a few days ago, hope you guys don't mind a newbie joinin in...

We are heading to the Tigers/A's game on Friday (barring flight delay), if anyone is interested.

btw i believe the sports bar i just mentioned (4th street deli) is in the basement of your hotel. It's not a bad place really.

A group of us California Vol faithful are starting out at Raleigh's on game day. Supposedly a pretty good pub & grub with tv's for earlier games. Should be a lot of pre-game orange in Berkeley.

Where are you guys? I spent this weekend in SF and didn't see a SINGLE VOL FAN.

I'm emailing from the Ahwahnee Lodge in Yosemite (and no...I can't afford to stay here...I'm staying in the $20/night campground).

Bring it on...I'll be back in the Bay Area on Friday and I better see 15,000 Vol fans down there by then.

There's a bunch of us down in Monterey, and the Orange is building up as the week goes on..... My best stuff will be worn towards the end of the week

Our group is heading to Berkeley Sat am from Merced. It would be cool to form a Vol Caravan for the drive over. Any vol fans in the San Joaquin Valley?

I know on Saturday I'm going to spend all day on campus, so if we figure something out for Berkeley, let me know.

I think me and my group are going to head straight for Berkeley and skip San Fran (its no big deal for us) So Teddy recommends The bears lair?

bears lair is a good place to hang out before the game but will be wall to wall people by noon.

What time would we have to be there to get a table?

Is it true that I can get a ticket for smoking a cigar OUTSIDE?

honestly i don't really know for sure, this being such a big game. I'd imagine you can get a table before noon but maybe not. Are you looking for a place to watch early games? Ralieghs will be less busy, has good food, but doesn't have as many tvs.

edit: as for smoking welcome to berkeley where you can smoke pot but not things that are legal. I very much doubt you would get a ticket though.

There a Volunteer tailgater at Marting Luther King hall on the UC campus from 2pm to 4pm. you can get more info at The University of Tennessee National Alumni Association ,

Also for those staying downtown, Johnny Foleys Irish bar on O'Farrell is just a few blocks from the Union Sq. area.

Also for those in the Wharf area , theres the Marina Sport s bar at 2500 Lombard-
Don't forget the Bay Bridge will be closed all weeknd so plan to take BART- or go the long way across the Golden gate then across the Richmond/san rafael briidge.
Since the game doesnt' start till 5pm our time, theres plenty of time to drive north and check out Muir woods or make a quick stop up here in napa for a litte winetasting before heading to Berkeley-

Looking forward to seeing lots of Orange!!! See you Saturday-
If you have any questions- let me know

The Big Orange Tailgate Tour is at the MLK Student Union 3rd Floor, as previously mentioned, which is near the corner of Telegraph and Bancroft.

The Big Orange Army is setting up at The Hotel Durant, 2600 Durant Ave, near the corner of Bowditch & Durant.

Henry's is right near Bowditch & Durant, and the Bear's Lair is in Lower Sproul Plaza right next to the MLK Union building. I'm guessing that's going to be the two most concentrated Orange gatherings in Berkeley.

Henry's is definetly the biggest cal alumni hangout in the city. It will be wall to wall cal fans. Bad place for a big group of vol fans (or any fans for that matter since you will have zero chance of getting a table and have to wade through a bunch of people to get a beer).

What is Henry's proximity to Hotel Durant?

So Henry's it is.

Just kiddin'. I'll be on my own couch or local BWW. And you'll be at a rehearsal dinner, or?

henry's is the bar in the hotel durant (sorry i should have been more specific). They expand the bar into the lobby on game days.
haha, well that's pretty funny that the Big Orange Army is setting up there too!! If you recall last year, they're the ones that have the orange tank in the middle of the strip.
