Just curious about whether people now view it as pure staged garbage or believe it still has some meaningful value to the electoral process?

As you might imagine, I won't pay it much attention, but the Hillary issue has potential to be interesting and the recent struggles of the Obama candidacy are certainly becoming a sore spot.

Could make for some good TV, except for the fact that very little news TV is worthy of my time.

I can't stand listening to bloviating politicians, especially the likes of Obama, Pelosi, Kennedy, Biden and the Clintons, so I'll be catching the highlights on my favorite blog sites.

In the spirit of fairness, I'm not too keen on GOP bloviating either.

The news coverage will be so over the top that I don't feel the need to watch any of either. I might tune in for the speeches of Obama and McCain but that's about it.

agreed 100%. I don't really care for politicians of any ilk.

I just want the one elected who views taxes similarly to my view. Other than that, you can have all of them.

I will be interested to hear how Obama explains the mechanism by which his massive tax increases will create private sector jobs.

he won't. He's relying on the stupidity or ignorance of his constituency in never having to explain. Their base assumption is that the rich paying more means they pay less. That's true in that fewer will have jobs, but it's not the end they're seeking.

I don't remember the last time I watched any part of either convention. Since the convention doesn't do anything more than just put its stamp of approval on the nominee, it's little more than a mutual admiration society and a chance to preach to the choir.

I doubt Chris Matthews is going to need any of that this week.

I'll watch it for comic relief!

This one will be a lot of fun because it will be a coronation ceremony ala Napoleon!
